Garoppolo is the perfect fit for the current iteration of this team. We can win now and develop Lance correctly. Who cares about the 3rd rounder someone gives us for Jimmy if Lance gets ruined by starting too early?

Another thing. Hopefully you'll at least reply to this one. Do you really think we're winning the Super Bowl? I think there's 10 teams that would beat us nine out of 10 times. And I don't think Jimmy is a world beater and he won't give us and he's never given us consistent performances like that all season. Bottom line is no matter what any of us is Trey Lance is the starter next year. Jimmy won't even be here next year we can all agree to that. So with that being said are we burning next season because we're probably not winning the Super Bowl this season? Because treys biggest weakness is game experience. So if he doesn't get any game experience this season he's basically going to be a rookie next season. So again are we burning next season for this season?

Did the Chiefs burn 2018?

And not only that there's probably 10 teams that would beat us nine out of 10 times. I'm not trying to be sarcastic I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer I'm trying to be realistic. I used to be that guy that my mindset would live or die with whether the Niners won or lost. After 2011 and 2019 I've learned not to do that I stay even keel. I know what Jimmy is and I know what he's not. He's not a world beater and for our team to win the Super Bowl that's what he hast to be . And the most will get out of Jimmy is three or four games like yesterday

Where did I say anything about winning the Super Bowl? I said if Lance isnt ready its best that he sits, and if he's sitting we can actually be watchable with Jimmy. Do you really want to sign some old has-been and watch us be early 2017 bad while Trey learns on the sidelines? Jimmy gives us a chance at making the playoffs, whatever chance that is. Rapaport reported that as long as were alive Jimmy is starting, which would mean that unless were eliminated we aren't trading him.

Exactly.

Trey wont play if hes not ready, unless Jimmy gets hurt. Thats just a fact. You can argue all you want, but Shanahan isnt screwing up his developing QB over a draft pick return for Garoppolo. Thats just a fact.

screwing up his development lol. Yup that scout team work is really getting him prepared to be the starter…had over 5 months of sitting there and got thrown into the game week 5, he looked totally prepared.

I really don't care if we're not throwing deep… the point is to be less like predictable. And that's exactly what we've been for most of the season.

I'm happy Jimmy was able to attack more parts of the field this game.

Oh man,...really wish I could share this same type of enthusiasm but we had literally 1 completion beyond 5 yards to the outside,...and when I call that area outside I'm being really generous:

The other 2 were incompletions. So I cant help but think about what's going to happen when better defenses take away the obvious areas to play and again dare us to pass outside,...which obviously the Bears weren't able to accomplish.

Another reason I thought Kyle might be close to moving to Trey is, Kyle has kept Travis Benjamin on the 53 man roster. He's been inactive since Jimmy got back I believe, but they still keep him on the team. I don't think they are worried that someone would snatch him off the PS.... so if it's Jimmy going forward, they will release him this week for spots needed for the IR folks coming back. But if he is STILL on the roster, then something might be up.

You would think they would use him with Jimmy, as if he were Goodwin. (I know, not the same speed...but he's still fast)

Hell,...Jimmy's main job is to PROTECT Trey from getting damaged early. Not sure why folks can't grasp this. If we luck into some kinda winning streak going forward then even better, but the writing is on the wall.

maybe they took away the outside. Maybe they did.

lol...or maybe they're just not a very good team,...especially without their All Pro pass rusher.

100%. Jimmy gives this team a chance this year, and just have to hope he plays at least as well as he played yesterday in going forward this season.

This team, with the talent it has and the talent that's returning as soon as hopefully this Sunday (Kittle, J. Wilson, Ford, Al-Shaair, maybe Greenlaw), can definitely do damage in the games ahead on the schedule & can get into the playoffs. And just get in, because once you're in anything can happen (team gets on a roll & plays its best ball, other teams might be slumping/incur key injuries, etc., etc.). I've seen it happen to teams that "just got in" in the past as Wild Cards, lower seeds, whatever.

Just get in. Yesterday was a start to build on and get better. At 3-4, no way in hell I'm giving up hopes for this team the remainder of this season.

What kind of chance do we really have this is stupid. We're not a Super Bowl contender. And again if we let Jimmy play out this season we're burning this season and next season. Don't get mad when Trey plays like a rookie next season, strictly because of gametime experience. You have two choices we as fans have two choices Kyle has two choices Burn this year or Burn next year. And guess what if we're not contenders we're not really burning this year. And it's not like Jimmy is above and beyond right now better than tray

It seems like there's something you cannot grasp. You said it yourself Jimmy's main job is to protect Ray from getting damaged early. So right now what you're saying is we're not winning the Super Bowl this year. And Jimmy is here to keep Trey protected for next year. The problem you have here is that tray will be just as good game one next season as he is right now if he doesn't get game time experience. So in your eyes and in your words you're burning this year and next season. You're basically saying we're not gonna give the 49ers a shot this season or next season

Dude...let.it.go.
You've been harping on this and will all year. We ALL get it. You don't have to keep saying it over and over and over and over and over and over.

You posted about this well over 200 times. It's not happening until either next season or we get eliminated from playoff contention.

Let. It. Go.
