I get criticizing Jimmy after the Colts game. If he put another couple games up like that I was gonna be firmly on the, "start trey" wagon. But I bend towards positive views on our guys until they give me ample evidence to not be positive anymore. Like, I'm not gonna hope McG gets better at pass pro, at this point.

When our qb has a good game, we want to celebrate that and look positively for the future and 2 days of harping on a play like this is just kind of ridiculous.

No. Its because people who homer out for Jimmy are incapable of accepting even the slightest criticism. Even on that play, every single person in this thread has said Deebo should have caught it. There shouldnt be a debate at all. But some people have to defend him no matter what, which leads to 20 pages of debate.

Jimmy played very well. Everyone agrees.

So much this^^^

But to be fair, it really does matter what you've read and what you haven't. I internally try to give all the posters the benefit of the doubt that I didn't see in those early Jimmy "hate" pages of threads. I don't believe anyone has read every single post so we're all the mercy of our findings. What really pisses me off are the people I know were there and still making the same logical fallacies about people hating Jimmy. Someone's perspective on the debate shouldn't bother you… the rhetoric they use to debate, should. If that makes sense? There's plenty of posters that I respect the way they debate but disagree with their perspective. And admittedly , there might be more Jimmy "hate" that I haven't seen. Keyword "MIGHT" :) It goes both ways.

I just think it's unrealistic to have a forum where everyone agrees on everything. IMO that's the whole point of this thing is to discuss topics we don't agree on. Although there's certainly ways to be more intellectually honest and respectful. (Myself is definitely included) That should be the goal… and not just to discuss things we all agree on.

The problem is people trying to belittle and make everything negative out of something so amazingly miniscule like the last few days. It's tiresome and it's blatant bias. Every day since I've signed up it's been nothing but negativity from certain posters. I may be a Jimmy "Homer" and give him the benefit of the doubt myself more often than not but I understand he has flaws as well. I have no shame in admitting that his leash is getting shorter with me but I also believe he has a chance to get us into the playoff hunt and make this season not garbage. No doubt that scenario is a huge "if" as Jimmy hasn't proven a thing yet. He absolutely has to play well on Sunday and show he can win. The only true stat that matters. If he can't, it may be time. It may be not.

But that's the thing, these fans can't even give it a rest. It's like "yeah he played well but man that one pass let's talk about that forever" It's non stop negativity towards him. Relentless really. Every day. To call that "slight criticism" is just not true. It's every move he makes(exaggerating).

I guarantee you that I will never be that petty towards Trey and I hope you guys remember this when fans start stupidly picking apart his ever move over stupid s**t. Remember that "slight criticism" remark. Jimmy is a good QB. Is he great? Not by any means but he has gotten us to a SB and has actually played well in spurts. The fact that many here can't even give the guy a little support, just a little support just sucks imo. That's my issue.

When Jimmy plays bad you say "you're done" with him,....when Jimmy plays good you come here looking for blood.
Gotta thank you for being 1 of the most positive posters ever here. It's good you're cleaning this thread up.

Yeah this isnt happening. It only appears that way because the conversation has gone on for so long because you and a few others cant accept any sort of criticism.

You dont believe me that people are NOT trying to belittle him and make everything negative? How many times have you seen a "hater" bring up his horrendous pass at the goalline after the best pass of his career? One? Two? Zero? If people are trying to belittle him and make everything negative, dont you think that play would have been brought up more than zero times? The reason this pass is continually debated is because people like you cant accept that the pass wasnt perfect. EVERYONE said the pass should have been caught.

I didnt read anything past the bolded.

Solid is not enough when we're paying him $26M.

Nit picking and sad faces after a win with him getting the game ball. This is our WZ.

Don't worry Mayo I've already tweeted your complaints to @JimmyG_10. I'm requesting 4 rush TDs this week.

Just needling Jimmy - he looked good, got to keep it going.

That's all we've needed from him since he got here. Unfortunately follows performances like that up with a poop game or an injury. Or both. But I'll always celebrate a game that Jimmy earns his check in.

Do we need to make a Jimmy G safe space thread? Since when are you not allowed to criticize a player? Is it only okay when it's Ward or AA ?

News flash, people expect a player to be really good when you pay them 25+ mil a year.

The game ball means he had the best performance of anyone on the club. So for a day anyway he lived up to expectations. Let's keep it rolling

Mitch Wishnowsky received a game ball too. Great game by those two.

Just wanted to jump into this conversation with an analogy from my first sport; football (soccer).

In football, kids don't go through college/uni, generally they are spotted at a young age (sometimes as young as 8 or younger) by professional clubs and are cut as they progress through the age groups. The most obvious age group for Scottish football is u19s, where generally clubs have a good idea whether the player will make it at their current level. On rare occasions, clubs will release a player, thinking they won't make it, only for them to be picked up by e.g a lower level club, and said player will go on to do better. The top end clubs in Europe have the finances to have massive youth squads, and swallow up huge numbers of young players. The also have the ability to loan players to other clubs in lower leagues to gain experience.

Imagine for a second, that the 49ers could loan Lance to another franchise; a franchise where he would be better than their starting QB. That could be a win win situation.

That can't happen, so what's the next best option? In the 49ers case, is he currently better than Garoppolo? IMO, going by his start vs the Colts, no. Will he be in the future? Absolutely, 100%.

So let's not put undue pressure on the lad. Let him learn to integrate, let him learn to be on the sidelines.

How well are Lawrence and Wilson doing right now...?

Lol talk about childish. Getting lower...and lower... and lower.

Find me 5 different post you've ever been complimentary of Jimmy. 5 different compliments about different aspects of his game. I can't find at least 170 of you "being critical". Long story short. 99% of your post are being critical and whiny. Whiny more than critical. Whining after a win for that matter. Go Niners, right?

I'm not a Jimmy fan... like, at all. But he played a solid game and didn't do anything I can be too critical about. He didn't turn the ball over or look scared, which he usually does several times a game. Don't recall seeing his patented happy feet either. Hopefully, he built some confidence here and we can launch a nice winning streak.

I think some fans are so focused on hating Jimmy that they root against him and forget that he's OUR quarterback.
"At the end of the day, I'm a Winner"

Is he talking football or his personal life?
