For the record. I don't care that Jimmy made that comment either. In fact… I like when he's a little arrogant/cocky.
Signed,
Perceived Jimmy hater
Why in the world would anyone get triggered by that? I WANT my starting QB to have some fire and remind people that he wins games.
100%.
And also .
I can't believe you guys perceive it as "confidence". Dude squeaked by the lowly Bears and now all of sudden gets on the mic and calls himself a "winner" hahahaha. Sounds pathetic. Let's see where this "confidence" is on Sunday when faces a actual legit defense.
Lastly, if he's really a winner then why Shanahan dump his ass for Trey Lance? So spare me the puffy chest...it's TOO LATE for you Jimmy!
A lot of us have already moved on, and just counting down the days.
Go Niners.
I swear the hate seems personal for some posters. Did Jimmy f**k someone's wife or something?
I mean he did play a big role in giving us a Super Bowl loss. A 2.8 4th quarter passer rating in the Super Bowl is just as bad as f**king your wife to some people.
But still, these guys don't appreciate the importance of what he's done with this comment. There is some talent on this team, talent where it matters in January. Some early adversity followed by a defiant but TEAM-UNIFIED "us against the world" attitude may not be ALL you need to be one of those 2007 New York Giants- type surprise Super Bowl winners, but it's definitely required.
If those things are considered equal, perhaps those folks are too sensitive to watch a violent sport like football. They also might be a bit delusional too. Since Jimmy was only a part of the reason we lossed that super bowl and not the sole reason.
I find it pathetic when folks find any little thing they can to bash a guy. You want to critize his game, that is understandable, but there is absolutely no reason to make it personal. Since Jimmy had a decent game, some folks are now looking for anything they can to belittle him. I just don't want to see the hate reach the Kaepernick level.
That's not it at all. Those criticisms for Jimmy over small things are directed towards people who find it impossible to accurately gauge Jimmy. It's for the people who think Jimmy is better than Stafford. The ones who think he's top 5 or very near it. The point of the exercise is to show that they are incapable of accepting that Jimmy has legitimate flaws.
Name them first. I think you're making s**t up but by all means who thinks Jimmy is top 5? Who thinks he's better than Stafford?
Go look at the Stafford thread.

You basically joined the forum in July, right? There's no need to name anybody,...you just weren't here.
Simply take the time to search the thread before you joined and you'll see.
Lol he's been here way longer than July
Goatie and Woo were two that I recall off the top of my head. And there were others as well, both those two were the president and VP of that club.

He sounds confident. I like it.
Lets hope he throws with confidence against Arizona and the Rams. Maybe throw it deep some more to Deebo. This is really the only way they can salvage the season. If not, he'll probably just shrivel up, throw some more picks, and we'll be back to bad Jimmy as usual
You're assuming he'll have time to throw. The Cards are missing Watt so he might have time in that game but against the Rams he'll get more pressure. Certainly he won't have all day to throw like he did last week.

That's going to be a terrific test for the unit pass protection, indeed!

Yeah, season is on the line here. And so is Jimmy's starting job, IMHO, if we don't win at least one.

Jimmy is coming off his best game of the yr, and for a change we have a fairly healthy O , with Elijah, Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle, Au jus, Wilson is back, and Kyle got his mojo back, calling his best game of the yr. On D, Kin is gone but Willis is back and Dee is ready , but watch the dark horse, Omenihu…look for him to have a big impact on the DL. K'Won is back, Hufanga is starting (Finally), and Demeco had a really nice game plan for last AZ game…contain, contain, contain. For a change, it is our opponents who come limping into this game, not us.
9ers 28-27 in a close one….unless Omenihu balls out, then 33-14.

I definitely didn't want him to replace Jimmy and preferred a draft pick as the heir apparent.
I called Jimmy a winner and said they were both on the Average Tier.
Stafford is playing at the top tier this year, definitely not average.
I also said he wouldn't be a significant upgrade which he would.
I still prefer that Kyle develop a young stud QB but Stafford would be an upgrade for sure.
The Rams are also better than I thought. Goff was a 4500 yard probowler with them.
