Were there not possessions after the fumbles?

Our time of possession sucks. Why is that? It's because we can't get Colt McCoy and James Conner off the field. No Hopkins, Murray and Chase Edmonds and we can't get off the field. We had 23 mins of possession. We should have at least 30. Imagine if our O had another 7 mins to go to work. Imagine if we had the time the Cardinals had. The Cards had almost an entire quarter of possession more than us. Our D blowing is the biggest factor in us not scoring. Hard to score without the ball.

Both teams had 11 drives in the game, so it's not the defense's fault the offense didn't score.

We lost possession 23 mins to 37. You can downplay this as much as you want.

When you just look at drives you're counting the 1 play Kittle fumble as a "drive"

How is it the defense's fault that the offense gave the ball back after one play? The TOP has more of an impact on the defense than the offense.

The defenses fault is allowing Colt McCoy to complete 22-26. The defenses fault is allowing James Conner to go LaDainian Tomlinson on us. Anyone with eyes would say the D just failed on a colossal massive level. McCoy should have been going three and out all game. This team had no starting QB, RB, WR or TE. If the D did what they were supposed to do we would have had way more possession and scored way more points.

The fumbles hurt our possession as well good point. If our D is getting three and outs the fumbles don't sting as much. After the Aiyuk fumble we allowed a 14 play OVER 8 minute drive. Can't do that it's losing football.

Nobody said the defense didn't have a share of the blame. This argument started when someone said that the 2 fumbles were why the offense only scored 17 points, but they had 9 other possessions where there wasn't a fumble.

Oh boy,...lol. And NC wonders why I use bold font. The word "can" involves the present/future. We have games in the future in 2021.

What someone accomplished 2 seasons ago is largely irrelevant in regards to what they can do now.

No it isn't. You said today is the best he can possibly play. Fact is he's played way better. Just cuz it didn't happen in this calendar year doesn't mean he is now incapable of doing it. Did he "forget" anything he knew back then? Nope.

?? Then they would've had way more "posession" and scored way more points too, I guess. They get the ball back again everytime we score and vice versa.

This is going nowhere fast.

Actually I didn't say it, I was just responding.

And even still,...you're not understanding the difference between what someone can do (now/future), and what someone has done (past).

People lose ability all the time,...especially the the realm of football ability. So what the guy did once 2 years ago is a horrible reply.

You seem confused over how possession works. The more possession we have, the less they have. Talking about time of possession. We just got clocked in this metric for the second straight game.
I honestly thought most of his problems were mental/slow to go through progressions and a weak arm but after seeing a lot of close shots today I believe his footwork and mechanics suck.

He can throw the ball deep if he had good mechanics. Every time he throws his release is a different point. Sometimes it's a really short step and sometimes he does a deep lunge and release.

There's no consistency in his footwork or prethrow motions.

Somebody should have already called him out on this 10 years into his career but he probably just surrounded himself with yes men.

So he can no longer do it why exactly? Age? He's in his prime. Talent around him? You don't like Deebo? Aiyuk? Kittle? Trent Williams? What ability has he lost?
Our QBis over rated get rid of him!!
I think he meant wiener....as in hes doinking a lot of porn stars. Reporters just heard wrong.

Lol so Kittle and Aiyuk fumbling are Jimmy's fault? That is cute.

Yeach I am gonna go ahead and place a bit of blame on Jimmy for Aiyuk's fumble. Dude was WIDE OPEN and had to jump 4 feet in the air to catch Jimmy's errant pass that would have been picked if not for a superhuman effort.

This is Aiyuk catching the ball, and it's not a stretch to assume that had the ball hit him in stride, the craziness of falling down, not getting touched, and trying to make a play would not have happened and chances are there is no fumble.

Aiyuk deserves most of the blame for not protecting the ball as he got up to try to make a play. But to say Jimmy is blameless on this play is comedy. His horrible throw was what triggered everything.
And thats another thing. When Trey Lance gets the keys to the offense, we better not hear the usual suspects from the Jimmy defenders club b**ch about bad ball placement and inaccurate passes. Jimmy throws so many high passes. The amount of times our receivers have to slow up and leap to make a catch on what should be a routine throw is insane.

Jimmy's accuracy isn't anywhere close to good enough for his defenders to complain about anyone else's ball placement and accuracy.

Or even if hit in stride Aiyuk gets that ball punched out. Lol QAnon theories are strong around here. Only person to blame for not protecting the ball is Brandon.
With all that being said, Jimmy played a decently good game today. Nothing to write home about, but good enough. Problem is "good enough" isn't going to get the job done on this team as it's currently constructed. We need better than good enough.

But Jimmy was not the reason we lost today.
