I'll probably catch hell for this, but think we have a better chance of going deep in the playoffs under Trey, despite his lack of experience. That lack of experience also translates to a lack of film on him. And Shanahan has an entire year of practicing him, knowing what his strengths and weaknesses are. If I was any opposing playoff team, I would be f**king terrified.
I agree. If you insert Trey right before the playoffs you enable entropy. Chaos will ensue. Teams know what they're getting with Jimmy, not with Trey.
They will only have that AZ film, and I still think that game was so run heavy because of his finger injury. There is no film of him passing, what his tendencies are on certain plays, ANYTHING. If they prepare off of Jimmy film, they're cooked. If they prepare on Trey bs AZ film, cooked. Next 2 games will be all any playoff team has, and I don't think we'll see the same s**t in the playoffs as the last 2 games. I Just went from "meh, maybe we make the playoffs" to "HOLY s**t! Trey may be able to make some noise in the playoffs!"

Just Watched the replay of the injury in slow Mo on ESPN. Defender grabbed Jimmy's thumb and pulled it back

If Jimmy doesn't play though this injury he may never throw another pass in a 49er uniform.

Chipped bone, torn ligament and still finished the game 😳😳😳.
Two things:
a) jimmy is a f**king baller. His performance suffered after the injury, but still led a game tying drive.
b) how f**ked are we that Kyle elected to go with an injured Jimmy over Trey?

If it was a serious injury I think it would be a lot more disgusting cheering on his injury. Its just a thumb injury.
I'm not happy about his injury. Injuries from him are an expected thing, and I'm not at all surprised. I'm not all confident either with him being replaced by Trey, but we will see. I still get the feeling they are not going to the playoffs regardless of what happens these next two games, so either way its not a big deal.

That sucks.
I'll miss you Jimmy, unlike these ungrateful s**t for brain fans that want a mobile qb (again) so badly because Mahomes embarrassed us with 7 mins left in the super bowl

Kyle needs to coach and stop acting like he's the smartest and toughest person that ever played the game.

Imagine "catching hell" because you think your team will succeed and the guy you are replying to thinks we are going nowhere. Come on Faithful.

Did it? He missed just as many big plays pre-injury as post.
