Thanks for the thumb, Jimmy. First time you did something for the benefit of the team. Warner said it when he said "Trey is dicing our defense up every day in practice". If Kyle can get his head behind designing plays for a great mobile QB we have a shot as players return from injury with Trey and our defense playing very well.

Greg Papa last week said Trey has looked great in practice too.

Yeach people were raving about Trey in training camp. And then the season started.

Don't tell me he's doing great. Show me.

Wrong. Some are thrilled about he injury.

Exactly. We weren't going to go far in the playoffs anyway so I don't know why peeps are crying for/against either Jimmy or Trey. I was just hoping for a playoff ride however long but seeing what Trey can do for us now is a bit exciting as well.

I just want playoffs as well no matter the QB. I don't care if we lose first round. Kyle needs it as well. Can't have another losing season and no playoffs 4 out 5 seasons.

Yup. Highly unlikely that happens now though.

Why not? Jimmy is holding the team back. Trey can easily come in and complete a 10 yard pass or to a wide open player. Kyle schemes up easy plays for Jimmy that he can take advantage of. Trey should be able. No problem.

Did you say the same thing about the Hawks and Cardinals game too?

Hey...maybe he's grown beyond a high school game plan by now.

Let's hope so but my expectations are low for his development at this point. Just trying to be as realistic as possible for the kid.

Maybe he pulls a Kap.

Anyone can come in an play Kyle's QB friendly system that has players open all over the field that Jimmy always fails to see. I don't see why Trey can't come in and take another level. He spent the whole year off studying film and working on his mechanics. Plus I don't know if you heard but he can throw hard and run like he wind. Playoffs or bust. No excuses.

like everyone keeps repeating shades of 2012 Kap. Let's go!!!

Anyone huh...is that why Kyle is 7-27 without him here?

Don't hit these people with facts. Their brains may explode.

To be fair, the other guys who made that record were Hoyer, Mullens, and Beathard. All career backups. How can't Jimmy look good in front of those guys?

Not a Jimmy hater, just ready to move on. He has given all he is going to give to this team. I appreciate him helping to get us out of the gutter.

Jimmy just doesn't have that "It" factor. He won't carry a team enough, and he manages his way into football follies too much.
From reports, Garoppolo has a torn ulnar collateral ligament. (UCL) From the Johns Hopkins website, that is a ligament in the elbow, not in the thumb area. It is critical to maintain elbow stability in a throwing motion.

"The UCL can be injured in several ways. Most commonly, there is a gradual onset of elbow pain due to repetitive stresses on the ligament. This is especially common in athletes who play sports that require overhead arm use or throwing."

"The instability resulting from a UCL tear may affect your ability to participate in sports that require throwing."

It can be the result of a single traumatic incident. In that case, it usually comes from a fall with an outstretched arm that may also include a bone chip that pulls of the humerus bone. This, however, is less common.

So, the reports of a thumb injury do not fit with a UCL injury.

So, Garoppolo may have been experiencing some pain and instability in his motion that impacted his accuracy. Bingo.

Lol, you don't need to be in medicine my man, just need Google. There is a UCL in the thumb. We don't need to find excuses for inaccurate throws.

Which would explain why he played poorly after he was injured. What play was it that he was injured? I can't rewatch the game for mental issues reasons lol

Monkey Bread. It's a GG4 cross (crossedwith Truffle Butter), has these great sweet and creamy buttery terps that make the mouth water and truly please the nose.

Oh goodness that sounds nice.

Jimmy has a pattern of being injured when or after playing poorly. This is about the third time it has happened. His former New England teammates called him out for the same garbage. The bright side is this is most likely the end of Jimmy Gaffathrow in SF.

Lolololol this is the best/worst take of the day 🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Other than the last sentence, nothing he said was inaccurate. Granted, the injury after poor play might be coincidence, but its not false. And Patriots players DID call him out.

People need to learn what a "take" is.

Ok lol 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.

one person: Jimmy got injured and played poorly

second person: jimmy played poorly. Also jimmy got injured.

whatever… glad to have you as a fan 👍🏻

Thanks. You still dont know what a "take" is.
Hoe many years have we lost because Garoppolo cannot stay healthy?

Not sure you know how to deduce, but I digress

Ok, what I'm getting from this is that Jimmy is done as a Niner. If he tore something, or if Kyle just doesn't want him losing anymore games is another story, and the rest is gamesmanship to make it harder for our opponents to prepare, whether it be Trey or Jimmy. I'm still hoping they find a way to redo his contract and retain him as our backup, but since that's unlikely I appreciate what he has done and wish him the best at his new team (unless he is playing us.)

I stand corrected. There is a UCL in the thumb. I was using one of my main resources for medical info.

Injuries in either place would preclude JG from being able to continue to throw the ball with accuracy.
