I don't think the Saints would be as great as a fit as some are saying. Butthole lips likes to push the ball downfield, that's not Jimmy.
Edit- my bad.

Saints would be an interesting fit. He can do the short accurate passing and Sean Peyton watched as he hung 48 on em in the dome.

Can we PLEASE stop with the Saints nonsense? They would have to clear almost $90M in capspace AND send draft capital to get Jimmy. That is about as far fetched as me saying Mahomes would be an interesting fit for the 49ers.

What the heck are you talking about clearing $90 mil? Have you run those number by Paraag? Sounds like a typo.

Its not a typo. The Saints currently are projected to be $61M+ over the cap. Then factor in Jimmy's salary. Thats how I came up with clearing almost $90M in capspace. Simple addition.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/2022/

And a team who needs to cut that much salary is going to heavily rely on the draft to fill their roster. Having to clear a boatload of cap by cutting players and trading away draft picks to add more salary makes absolutely no sense.

Doing some looking into it they were apparently $100 mil over the cap coming into this year. Looks like they cleared that. $90 mil should be a piece of cake. Especially considering the league is giving them a $26 mil head start. Not saying they will get JG but they could if so inclined. In fact if acquiring they would likely redo JG's deal and the amount counting to this year's cap may be way less than what you are factoring.

Keep in mind he would be a 1 year rental and then cap space clears for them. Steve is probably right but if they wanted him for a season, they could find a way. They still can compete right now.

You look at the Saints... you look at the Panthers... you look at the Broncos..... it's just sad to watch to have talent on a team, only to be held back by your QB.

These teams who are ready to win now will compete with each other, will up the asking price for Jimmy. Folks will forget about a few games here and there (Titans game).... these coaches are desperate, they have to think positive and look at the good things regarding Jimmy....they just want to keep their jobs a bit longer.

He'll get an incentive driven contract that protects the team if he gets injuried. Jimmy is good at getting #s, so I can see him taking it.

The only thing that makes it weird is Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson.. if Russ leaves, Seachickens will get Watson imo.... unless Russ goes to Chicago for a trade involving Fields.

Guys like Drew Lock's best game is Jimmy's worse. I don't think people understand how terrible some of these guys QB situations are. It's like us with Mullens and BeatHard. Jimmy is a huge upgrade over these scrubs.

I think it's more likely Wilson goes to New York with the Hawks getting Jones back in return.

I was going to mention the Giants and Jones... but I don't think the Seahawks would take it. I know I've heard that Cierra wants to go to a big city like NY... so we'll see.

Also my bad I forgot to mention the Eagles and Hurts.

There is a Jimmy trade value thread. This one should be discussing whether or not he has taken his last snap as a 49er.

I says yes.

Oh that's right, my bad.

Carry on folks.

I think Drew Lock sucks too. But exaggerating makes your argument weaker, not stronger.
I wish trey could learn jimmys release. Love him or hate him that little pop he does has made him very clutch at times.

so many times they almost get there and poof the balls out. Somtimes to the other team but it's gone

Bridgewater, Mariota, Nick Foles, Winston…. Those are your top FA's. Not Mullens and Lock

It was meant to be tongue in cheek. Lock is a terrible starter just like Mullens and BeatHard. What we saw from Jimmy against Tennessee is a regular occurrence for guys like Lock. For example his last 9 games last year as the full time starter he threw 13 picks to 9 tds averaging 17 points. "Similar" ratio to Jimmy vs Tennessee. This guy plays like Tennessee Jimmy more often than not.

You werent all that far off. Lock is terrible. He had a couple of Mullens like moments where there was a glimmer of hope... only to be snuffed out by him continuing to play lol. At best he is a budget back up for other terrible QB situations, Gabbert 2.0. JG is somewhere between Bridgewater with the potential of having a Tannehill like turnaround in the right situation. Is it likely? probably not.... there arent allot of those types of turnarounds in the NFL.

But give him a 2000 yard running game, a strong defense and a coach who will take the ball out of his hands when necessary and he can pull off the same feats as Tannehill or Wentz. Not the greatest compliment but he is a decent enough QB to do that. Thats all he's proven to be, but he has proved it. Some team will be happy to settle for that. I mean the Steelers were ready to roll with Mason Rudolph as the successor to big ben for a hot minute. Who knows, maybe Seattle pulls a Matt Flynn again and takes JG off our hands for a 3rd once Wilson bounces.

It's not always on Jimmy having to cover his sins when our secondary is basically a charity case for anyone who wants to toss it up towards Norman. I really dont care about who the QB is, both have their pros and cons... trying to get into it on this board just throws you into a "camp" and then you get labeled as a hater or nuthugger.

But lezbehonest, JG is gonna sh*t the bed 1 out of every 3-4 games... we havent even seen enough of Lance to know what his rate of sh*tting the bed will be haha... but this secondary has sh*t the bed almost every game and gotten bailed out in our wins or joined in with special teams for being the reason of at least half of the losses. WTF throws are gonna be apart of both the QBs on this team, regardless of the name on the back of the jersey.

The statistic comes from every game this year that he has thrown an interception we lose the game. In the past I agree with you he was the guy that was better after an interception. That never changed that he throws to many interceptions. Especially when you compare it to the touchdown ratio. But again this year he throws a pick we lose. It's just a fact. It doesn't matter who we play. It's obvious that the office is way more dynamic when Trey is on the field. And I could easily argue that the second half was as productive as fluid and as smooth as Jimmy has played all year.

jimmy has won against the rams 5x NO GB, pretty much every team in these playoffs. Can't fast track that

If he's hurt YOU CERTAINLY do
