His thumb injury was due to poor pass protection. Trey will be playing behind the same oline. I think it shallow analysis to blame a player for injury when there are other significant things at play. On the upside for Trey he does seem a little bit more aware in the pocket of incoming defenders and can jink around. I hope that helps prevent defender inflicted injuries.

Ive got news for you: literally every QB in the NFL takes hits. Many have worse lines than jimmy and don't miss as many games.

Blaming a player for injuries is just weak. It is a ridiculous analysis.

Wait, but you just blamed our offensive line for his injuries, though. So basically you are saying its ok to blame other players for someone's injuries, but not the player himself? I mean, you said he hurt his thumb due to poor pass protection, but Jimmy didnt get hit until 3.5 seconds into the play (at least a full second after Jimmy chose to ignore a wide open Jajuan Jennings running right in front of his eyes). So who really is at fault here?

Just a ridiculous post. "Blaming a player for injuries is just weak"......right after I just blamed other players for his injury. Incredible. LOL

I don't blame Jimmy for trying to make something happen in that situation.
Injuries happen. I blame the OL when they Ren't providing decent PP.

I don't blame anyone for this injury.

No, I reply to any post I choose to reply to. That's how these forums work.
I saw a clip on ESPN or something yesterday and they were talking about if you were Aaron Donald who would you rather play? Jimmy or Lance. Many people said Lance because he's a rookie and hasn't beaten your team 5 times in a row. He has less of a command of the offense and Jimmy has an elite release that has negated their pass rush. Plus for whatever reason Shanahan calls plays out of his mind against them and outcoaches McVay.

My argument would be neither, but if we're talking this week I would rather not play Lance. Shanahan calls plays that are deceptive and designed to not put the game in Jimmy's hands. Quick handoffs, sweeps, easy quick throws to Kittle, Juice, for 5 yards and run. Then the occasional "Ok go read the D and hit Deebo or Aiyuk for a 10+ gain because I know it will be there." All it takes it for the Rams to figure out what Shanahan wants to do once (like this week) and we are screwed. Especially with an injured Jimmy.

I'm looking at odds and probabilities of us actually winning 6 in a row with the same formula as Jimmy. I'm not liking our chances. I say play Lance and let chaos ensue. The Rams have gotten hot and they are not the team we played in November to jumpstart our season. They are looking to end it at all costs. I say the unknown in Lance gives us the better chance.

The Rams have gotten hot? They've been getting damn lucky with their Ws for the past couple weeks. They should have lost to the Ravens (with no Jackson) and the Vikings. Stafford has been a TO machine as of late.

Regarding who they would rather play, I mean I think most fans want Jimmy if he's healthy enough to run the offense. Not sure that's gonna be the case....SF has beaten LA with Nick Mullens and Jimmy basically throwing the ball less then 4 yards per attempt last yr, and that D was actually better.

This is accurate.

Jimmy healthy = really good QB
Jimmy playing through injury = really bad QB
Jimmy injury frequency = hard to count on Jimmy being consistently really good QB

I've felt playing Jimmy was the right thing to do all year. For this game, I'm hesitant with either choice. I don't think Trey is ready for putting the pressure of an entire season on his shoulders for one game. I also don't trust throwing Jimmy out there to play through injury.

At the end of the day, I might be leaning more towards Trey for this game. I like Jimmy, but not when he's trying to play through an injury.

Ok stop the madness
Jimmy is an AVERAGE QB when healthy
My buddy had an injury like this..it took him
A month just to hold a fork. Hes not a football player
He's an average joe

We should hear if flat foot Jimmy was able to practice today.

they was a 5-6 game stretchy where Jimmy and the offense was clicking we were getting points almost every drive. It wasnt flashy but we were a top 3-5 offense during that strech in yards/play and points/play

I mean they've won 5 in-a-row. That's hot to me. That Hansel is so hot right now.

Anyways back in 2019 when we had win streaks there were some close nail-biters. I bet fans were saying we were lucky. A W is a W and they got 5 in-a-row.

okay so he's throwing the ball, that's good.

Definitely an interesting development. I'm still worried about his gripping power. Yeah he can throw, but can he secure the ball if he's hit?
Pretty disappointed from the taste of the video that shows jimmy laughing behind trey instead of supporting him...

If the thumb can make his game changing, momentum killing INT go errant, I'm all good.

I wanted TL to start all year long and now, but Jimmy laughing is completely inconsequential. My God. People are reading way too much into this. It literally doesn't mean anything.
