Yeah, Lombardi said Garoppolo told him he was actually lifted off the ground by his thumb and then slammed down on top of it. And Dennis Brown said all DL sharks will be treating that thumb like blood in the water with zero remorse.

The thumb will also affect how the play-action and handoffs are done. He will favor the hand the whole game.

its a bit insulting to say this Jimmy has a fantastic record here with the 49ers
It looks more and more like he'll start.

I'm more concerned about that than the passing. I can easily see a fumbled handoff or a fumble if he gets hit. A recovered fumble behind the line is worse than an INT as far as field position goes. It's great that Jimmy is trying to show how tough he is but there's no way he's going to be close to 100%. He's a marginal QB even when he's 100% so I question how effective he'll be if he plays.

If he starts and plays like sh*t, there is a built in excuse. Yank him after the 1st or 2nd Q and go with Lance.

I could see that happening if he struggles. I just hope the Niners aren't too far behind if it does. The defense will have to play it's usual good game against the Rams. They've been the big reason the Rams have struggled against the Niners.

The niners can't go in with the the mindset of a short leash for either qb. You go in with Jimmy, you stick with him. You go with Trey, you stick with him. And none of this 2 qb packages. Kyle already said he hates it and it messes with his playcalling.

This team needs to stick with its identity no matter the qb. Run the ball down their throats, ball control and time of possession, win the turnover battle. Why is this so complicated. If they are successful with the run, they win.

tbh from what ive seen with trey ball control offense is not his strength yet. He isnt good enough at the quick throws yet to run that type of offense and win the way we did the first game
I hope all you Jimmy fan boys get your fill this weekend cause the lights are about to go out on the s**t show that was his 49er career. At least he won the MIP award consistently.. king of mediocrity at his best and a one man game losing machine at his worst. Good riddance indeed! Lets go Trey!

If Kyle and Jimmy think he's good to go then he's going to start. If it becomes apparent that he can't function as the game progresses then they would be crazy to stay with him, plan or no plan. You can't play an important game with a QB that can't function.

Yeah… no need for that. Lots of reasons to be thankful for Jimmy's time here.
