Until that last drive. Jimmy can be super clutch when we absolutely must have it and I thought clutch Jimmy could bail out bad Jimmy after being bailed out by that punt block TD. Won is spite of Jimmy but credit to those throws to Kittle and Deebo on the game winning fg drive

People forget that's how Joe played all the effing time. There's a reason Steve had better numbers except the playoffs. Joe would play meh for 3 quarters then become the GOAT in crunch time.

I'm not saying Jimmy is Joe, but in 2019 and this season he's had 7 game-winning drives and 10 total with the team. We ain't done yet and 28 other qb's are gonna be watching the game and/or golfing next week.

Folks do yall finally believe me now about being bias????

And this is all for JIMMY F'N GAROPPOLO! Who hasn't been with us for that long... who hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt.

Again... in the past 4 games... Jimmy has 6.... SIX INTERCEPTIONS!

How about we compare Joe Montana's stats vs Jimmy in the Playoffs?

Well folks, do yall finally believe me that he doesn't read all the post? I say, "I'm not saying Jimmy is Joe"

Then proceeds to compare Jimmy to Joe as if that's what I said.....#fail

You brought up Joe Montana ON YOUR OWN! That's not a coincidence.

You could have mentioned any other QB.

I brought him up cause he's a 49er legend. One that everyone in here will agree was incredible. The point was hindsight bias, maybe you missed that. People timber Joe as great because he and the team accomplished greatness.

We don't remember all his bad plays. We don't remember the playoff losses. We remember the drive, the catch - moments that weren't dominant wins like the 89/90 super bowl.

Yet, after a hard fought game when it wasn't perfect and Jimmy leads us for abgame-winning score you guys are still moaning about how bad Jimmy is.

Well, enjoy that loathsome energy because we're in the NFC CG. Goodnight.

Jimmy is coming back next year!!!

He may do that.

Oh hell no.

I know, this whole winning thing sucks.....

Do you want him back next year starting for this team Jonny? Answer that. Don't go and hide.

Duse, it's 1 AM here. I was getting ready for bed. Don't be a dick

You could have still answered the question without calling me Dick.

And you couldn't even do that haha.

Go ahead and answer.

Ill leave that answer up to Kyle. He knows far better than I what he feels his chances if winning are with Trey. Whatever Kyle decides I will 1000% support.

You could have so asked the question without the, "dint run and hide" comment. That's why I called you a dick. Cause it's 1 AM here and you act like I should stay up and answer your snarky comments.

Oh he's already gone and you can tell,...the poster just wondered if you'd really want him back after seeing these last couple of games.

Again.. this is what I'm talking about... Joe or other QBs who might have had bad playoff games here or there... at least they also have had great performances.

That is why they would deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Here are Jimmy performance in the playoffs...

5 games....2TDs 5INTs... low passing yardage.

How in the HELL DOES JIMMY GET THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT??? like how Joe and others would deserve.

Guess you'd have to put on the game film.

p.s.,...you left out the 146 yards per game he's throwing for in playoff football. 4-1 tho.

Not sure what we are talking about here. JG isn't Joe or Steve. He doesn't need to be. They had their day. I want to see a new story. This is JG's time and he'll be starting the NFC Champ. We beat the Rams in LA, the Boys in DAL and the Pack in Lambeau. We can beat anyone, anytime. JG got sacked all day on third no one open. Kittle dropped a long Td. Jennings dropped. BA dropped. Eli face mask. Trent holding. Notice on the pick he wanted the open Kittle but was pressured had to escape and the time escaping ruined the play we could have protected better. JG could have gotten frustrated and demoralized he stuck with it in winning time bang stike to Kittle bang another strike to Deebo we WIN. It's called mental toughness flush the previous play keep playing each moment like it's your last. He did great.

I'm extremely happy that we have a young rookie who might reaches potential. And if you only riches half as potential with the type of team we have we will still be unstoppable probably for the next decade I'm excited about the future of the 49ers I'm excited about this year

4 - 1 all time in the playoffs.

Big time winner in the regular season.

WZ keeps complaining.

2TDS... 5INTS in those games.

How about this.

In those 4 wins... he has 1TD and 3INTs.

this

Man I want him to win the Super Bowl.

I mean I want us to win. But I want him to win. He doesn't even have to play out of his mind. Just play well enough.

Actually, he can have a so so game but lead a game winning drive at the end. That would actually be kind of vintage Jimmy.

Because, the reality is, bad plays and bad throws and all the vast majority of the time when we've needed him to come through he has. Yeah, sometimes because he messed up earlier in the game and you don't want that either. But when the chips are down and it's do or drive Jimmy typically comes through with a scoring drive of some sort.

But he just has that overthrow in the Super Bowl hanging over his head with this fan base and to a lesser extent around the league. And even that wasn't all on him, even though those irrational haters want to say it is. It was a perfect storm of everything. Blown coverages, no interior pass protection or ability to block Chris Jones, no holding called on KC's line, and yeah Jimmy's overthrow.

It's not about being a fan of his or wanting him to stay. It's just acknowledging that he is a tough minded sob and great leader for the team and it sends him out on a high note and gets us Lombardi #6 as a bonus.

Great post and agreed.

Playoff football is tough. Ratings go down. Teams are top notch no scrubs to pad your stats. Tannehill threw 3 picks today. Burrow was sacked 9 times. Rodgers had zero TDs. I could give a flying f right now about individual stats. The eye test tells me JG played great. One ball he would like to have back but it was the right read just got it out a second late due to having to elude the pressure. Lots of drops and penalties stole some of our offensive thunder and the elements played a big role.
Let's give credit where credit is due: He had a very good start to the Dallas game. Very solid. Other than that....ehhh. Leaves alot to be desired as the sample size increases.

Like someone said,...he's pretty much due after 5 playoff games like these to finally have a consistent game from start to finish. Not perfect,...just consistent. Not because he's improved or anything, just sheer odds. You'd like to hope that that happens next week.
