Yeah I get that. He's thrown one TD in 3 weeks though. Deebo has as many passing TDs. I mean if he's not gonna throw a bunch of TDs, he's gotta take care of the ball better, I'd like to see better situational football from him there.

We will see, I like Jimmy vs the Rams...he's a middle of the field timing passing QB and they're awful up the middle.

I agree, but I think it could also be that this offense is required to be highly efficient in minimal opportunities. Think the only way we see gunslinger Jimmy in the zone like he was in 2017 and that bundle of games in 2019 is if Kyle goes shotgun no huddle from the start of the game or in spurts during the game. THAT is when Jimmy be like, "Oh, you handing it over, Let's f**ken Go, Baby!!"

But we all know that considering the high powered teams we are playing, we will not go a fast paced style and make the game longer, unless there is no other option.

I think we see the best of Jimmy this game. Well, the best of Jimmy with a torn ligament in his thumb anyway. He'll complete 70% of his passes, throws for 2 TD's and maybe runs 1 in at the goal line.

FWIW Jimmy was in shotgun when he threw both his INTs in the playoffs.

That's not what I'm talking about. I mean in terms of sticking with that set. He's a rhythm QB. That's why just before the drives we need him, he dials in because he knows that's all Kyle is going to call.

That INT in the GB game, seeing it all from his perspective, I can see how and why it happened. Even the ones in DAL, it is obvious he doesn't have full control and full zip all of the time with that thumb injury.

would be a mistake IMO. Like Walsh said it's better to move off a player a yr early then a year too late...and in this scenario you're never ever gonna get more compensation for Jimmy then right now. The market is bleak at QB, no good prospects and a bunch of teams in search of any type of upgrade. We need picks and money to keep this train going. We got to get Lance reps and get our massive investment where he needs to be...the NFC is open for business and the sooner we get Lance rolling the better IMO.

Love everything Jimmy represents and what he did during his time here...but once that trade happened it changed where SF was going at QB. I mean Jimmy might actually want to be moved as well. This is his time to capitalize on getting a new contract (he's not getting it here) and you'd think he'd like to know he's gonna be the man at the next place for at least a couple years, not another season of looking behind you back and hearing people wanting Lance when you put up a stinker. IMO it's best for both sides that this is the last dance.

I don't think he's deserving of a ton of praise for the GB win. I have celebrated the W like everyone else and think that win was more so because of the defense and STs. If you disagree that's fine. Like Others have said weather played a part too.

I have no problem being pumped where this team is/celebrating that, respecting the hell out of everyone on the team(including Jimmy) and realizing that the main dude, our QB, isn't playing amazing football right now...if we can get by with our QB throwing more INTs then TDs and avg like 150 yards a game, so be it. Can we agree that the oline probably had one of their worst performances in awhile in that green bay game? Specifically with pass pro?

Still Rodgers was sacked and harassed more than Jimmy. The O lines were probably having trouble with their footing in that game so I'm not surprised.

Jimmy was sacked 4 times on 23 dropbacks, or on 17% of his dropbacks and according to pro football reference was under pressure on 39.1% of his dropbacks.

Rodgers was sacked 5 times on 34 dropbacks or 14.7% and according to the same source was pressured on 26.5% of his dropbacks.

Jimmy was hit 3 times, Rodgers 1.

No, Rodgers wasn't getting pressured and harassed more. Not saying this is you, but some people have this lense they see Garoppolo with vs other qb's and act like Jimmy does less under better circumstances.

GB's defense came to play. They had their best defense in years, Kenny Clark was a monster all game and we struggled separating from man-coverage.

Just think about how dominant our defense and pass rush seemed Jimmy was under more pressure and had fewer guys open. Think about that.

I disagree that he was under more pressure. Rodgers avoided getting hit by being able to move better. In that weather neither QB was going to be able to do much anyway. I stated on another post that despite some drops i was amazed that the receivers were able to catch the ball as well as they did.

If he doesn't have full control and zip or whatever he shouldn't be throwing those balls. He was throwing the ball fine in other spots during the Dallas game. He had other throws in the GB game that were just fine. Jimmy has got to be better at situational football there. Prior to the drive in GB SF had like -15 yards of offense and 4 punts, it's 1st down and if you can't control your passes DON'T throw that ball on 1st down. Same thing in Dallas, it's 2nd down and you're throwing on the run trying to make a difficult throw....it's near the end of the game and SF was up multiple scores. Live to fight another down.

I'm all for trying to make a play in the right situation. IMO those weren't the right situations.

If this were in the regular season, I would be 100% behind you. However, we are in the NFCCG and if we are going to win, it is going to be with Jimmy. Chances are, he'll be gone after this season. There really isn't anything we can do at this point but have faith that he can put together 2 solid games like we all know he is capable.
