Imagine hating Lombardi but agreeing with Nick Wright

That sums up a bunch of people on the Webzone

How do you see the game playing out this weekend?

I agree with Nick.

Nick is a complete idiot and his take on Jimmy is among the most ignorant things I've ever heard. But he loves to hate on Bay Area teams so I'm not surprised.

There is another component on shows like this: they always have an antagonist to create tension to keep listeners tuned in. The goal is to sell advertising. To sell advertising you have to have people watching. So, they pick a hot topic and wring out every possible minute and twist and spin they can. Hence, Nick Wright. It seemed obvious to me this guy is scripted.

This

People eat it up but it is so lame.

Exactly and that's why I laugh when people get upset about guys like Skip Bayless.

Skip Bayless plays the perfect "heel" and he knows how to work the "crowd" so to speak. Debate shows need guys like him to thrive so you have someone you can either really root for or really root against but you're rooting all the same.

That's why First Take took such a hard dive when he left because nobody could effectively play the heel to Stephen A Smith. It became a show where they all had slight disagreements and tried to out virtual signal each other.

I don't listen/ watch guys like Skip Bayleas, Stephen A, Tom Green etc. Waste of time and zero knowledge to bring whatsoever. anybody can do what they do as long as they have a platform.

They are just entertainers not serious commentators

There's much better options for entertainment than those dweebs

I really hope when we win the chip jimmy comes back. Trey can marinate another year and jimmy can try to repeat 🤞. He got us this far at 50% throwing capacity. Imagine if he was healthy

Haven't watched the video yet...I will say Lombardi is the CEO of the Jimmy fan club. He tosses out one or two analytical numbers to "prove" why he's such an amazing QB, but when someone tosses out other analytical data that kinda contradicts his comments...he get's all butt hurt and says why uses such obscure analytics

I mean Jimmy is a polarizing topic in the football world. it's not just in the WZ. End of the day it should be cool to say he's an okay QB that doesn't turn into a turtle in big moments (for the most part). He's a QB that's brought this team to a SB and a NFCC that is absolutely worth something. I don't think it has to be he's trash or just amazing, there's a lot of middle ground in between those two takes IMO.

We will see! I think Lance needs to play next yr though...we gotta pay Deebo/Bosa/Tomlinson/LBer position, figure out what we're doing in the secondary (we're losing multiple starters), figure out the right side of the OL and what we're doing on the DL (we have 5 DL as FAs). We don't currently have high end draft capital to subsidize the cap deficiencies either.

There isn't gonna be a higher value on Jimmy in a trade then right now, the market is ripe for the taking too. SF needs picks/cash and Lance needs to play football...his rookie contract is vastly important to all this too. IMO you can't let that deal waste away on the scout team. Also Jimmy wants to get paid too, his market at this point probably won't be higher... I'm sure he wants to go to a team where he knows his the man for the next couple yrs and doesn't have to deal with "put in Lance" every moment he throws an INT.

Agreed its not black or white.

But It seems to me that of the talking heads, the guys who are just loud and obnoxious and know s**t, are Jimmy haters, like nick Wright and Stephen a smith.

He's right. I have always felt that JG's will to win presses him to play aggressively and to push the margins of his ability. He's got it like the greats have it. I will take the picks any day with that attitude.

It seems that the team feels the same way. If it weren't for his injury history, JG would be the QBOTF.

I hope Trey has that same obsession.

Who cares what those idiots say? Nothing about them make them qualified to talk about how good or bad a QB is....They're no better than any of us in here, they just found a way to make a lot of money doing what we do in here lol.

Nick Wright looks like a mixture of pee wee Herman and Tom Green lol. I can't really take anything he says seriously. We all know SAS is just a loud mouth and doesn't even know who's playing on who's team anymore. They get paid to argue and create hot take content, it's all about engagement and eye balls and nothing gets the ball moving more than hot takes....they certainly aren't giving the public some great knowledge about the game. Love to hear Nick Wright talk about coverages and schemes.

Haha it's good I'm not the only one that has noticed.

I mean agree or disagree with the clip of Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho saying Jimmy was underrated and underappreciated. Those guys at least played the game at the highest level. They weren't quarterbacks but they played with quarterbacks and understand the effect they have on the chemistry of a team, the pulse of a team, the motivation of a team, and the leadership role they either excel at or don't.

RidetheHyde was trying to bring up old Patriots players dogging Jimmy. Okay. One thing I haven't seen is some family member of a player calling out Jimmy on social media like Kareem Hunt's dad did Baker Mayfield. Now, social media brings out the worst in people and maybe Kareem Hunt's dad is a Lavar Ball type loudmouth. I don't know.

But yeah, there's no reason to take almost anything that they say seriously. Plus, as has been established, neither of them are remotely as cute as Kay Adams. She may not be a football expert either but she can say her piece.

Lombardi who's a self described analytic nerd, talked about because Jimmy is so aggressive it will result in TO worthy plays (at least that's what he said on twitter) thing is using his own analytics, Jimmy is actually not very aggressive and there's multiple stats backing that up.

I mean Chris Simms played QB in the NFL, he's got the opposite narrative as those guys. It's all hot take and opinions end of the day.

Whatever with what other players say about Jimmy good or bad...he's doing his thing here for as long as he can and we're winning games. We all got our opinions of him, he's polarizing but I would say 99% of us want him to do well.
