They weren't quarterbacks but they played with quarterbacks and understand the effect they have on the chemistry of a team, the pulse of a team, the motivation of a team, and the leadership role they either excel at or don't.

RidetheHyde was trying to bring up old Patriots players dogging Jimmy. Okay. One thing I haven't seen is some family member of a player calling out Jimmy on social media like Kareem Hunt's dad did Baker Mayfield. Now, social media brings out the worst in people and maybe Kareem Hunt's dad is a Lavar Ball type loudmouth. I don't know.

But yeah, there's no reason to take almost anything that they say seriously. Plus, as has been established, neither of them are remotely as cute as Kay Adams. She may not be a football expert either but she can say her piece.

I mean Chris Simms played QB in the NFL, he's got the opposite narrative as those guys. It's all hot take and opinions end of the day.

Whatever with what other players say about Jimmy good or bad...he's doing his thing here for as long as he can and we're winning games. We all got our opinions of him, he's polarizing but I would say 99% of us want him to do well.

I don't take Simms that seriously either though personally. I mean I respect that he got there but man did he suck. Plus, and I know it's the Ohio State fan in me and he obviously has growth to do, but he acted like Fields was going to be one of the weakest quarterbacks in the draft. Then one time when I happened to catch him and Florio after Fields flashed in the preseason, Simms was all about starting him over Andy Dalton. Having an opinion is fine and I understand they change, but can we at least try to be consistent? Or at least come out and say, "This guy looks a lot better than I thought he would coming in." Maybe he did say that, I don't know. Like I said I don't spend really any time watching/listening to any of them.

Imagine hating Lombardi but agreeing with Nick Wright

Imagine claiming somebody hates a 49ers team writer because they disagree with them.

Yeah it's all silly.

That sums up a bunch of people on the Webzone

How do you see the game playing out this weekend?

Jimmy G beats Stafford again.

I've gotten to the point where the only two NFL analysts I trust are Greg Cosell and Brian Baldinger.

Haven't watched the video yet...I will say Lombardi is the CEO of the Jimmy fan club. He tosses out one or two analytical numbers to "prove" why he's such an amazing QB, but when someone tosses out other analytical data that kinda contradicts his comments...he get's all butt hurt and says why uses such obscure analytics

I mean Jimmy is a polarizing topic in the football world. it's not just in the WZ. End of the day it should be cool to say he's an okay QB that doesn't turn into a turtle in big moments (for the most part). He's a QB that's brought this team to a SB and a NFCC that is absolutely worth something. I don't think it has to be he's trash or just amazing, there's a lot of middle ground in between those two takes IMO.

Jimmynis polarizing here because some are hapoybto win with him and some are not.

It should be cool to pat him a compliment after that great game winning drive and second half in hostile conditions in Green Bay but some get triggered by those comments and must counter them with negativity.

Yeah they're legit analysts...not mouth pieces that couldn't tell you what C3 is, but you're suppose to believe they know everything about football because they're on TV lol.

As far as guys like Lombardi, I enjoy his analytical approach and coverage of the team...anyone with half a brain and a set of eyes can see that he's a Jimmy homer though. He goes out of his way to make a point of it. He cherry picks presser comments and stats that backup what he wants to narrate, then get's a little butt hurt when someone proves him wrong over it....Like he's better than everyone and can't learn something every once in a while. Dude isn't above anyone, he's a journalist not a football coach.

I think he like everyone else just wants to be right to justify why we should be listening to them...is what it is.

That literally made no sense at all.

Fans like analysts who validate their beliefs.

Jimmy is polarizing because of how he plays.

Also no more trying to start arguments today man, I'm not here for that especially about a subjective take like we should or shouldn't complement a guy just cause. Some get triggered in here if you don't just praise him regardless, people should be allowed to contextualize ANY given game. It's not different then if SF lost a game and it wasn't because of QB play or talking about how bad ST was, even though we won. I'm also not saying Jimmy was bad vs GB in those elements, but for the love of god just leave it alone for one day.

JT OSullivan still has some of the balanced coverage you're going to see on QBs out there, and he's released a new video on JimmyG.

The team is won in LA to make the playoffs, won in Dallas and won in Green Bay to make the NFCC and some are polarized by celebrating the game winning drive or Shanahan praising an incomplete pass.

That is silly. People are allowed to make sully posts and get triggered over any praise.

You argued against praise given to Jimmy in the Jimmy thread for the last drive of the game. Are you not allowing people to express their opinion that Jimmy won that game with a great 4th qtr game winning drive?

this whole season really solidified who he is at this point and that we definitely can do better. (even though I was an advocate for getting Stafford).

if we had the Jimmy on a consistent basis like we had from the NO game, ARI games in 2019, it'd be a different story. too injured. too streaky. too inconsistent.
