I think a lot of people are being dramatic/sensitive over differences of opinions and the "haters" are few and far between.
I think it's okay to question our QB's abilities STILL root for him and understand what he's done here, and realize we might benefit from better QB play down the road too? are those all mutually exclusive now?
Yes it's OK the 1st time. Yes it's OK the 10th time. But it's like beating a dead horse. We get it. People think Jimmy is limited, he makes mental errors, and the team can upgrade the position. Thats why Trey is here. But he's not ready, or Kyle thinks he's not ready, or he thinks Jimmy gives the team the best chance to win right now. So here we are, in the nfc championship game with Jimmy. Trey isn't coming in.
So why oh why is this still being brought up and talked about over and over and over again? There's a time and a place for it. It's the offseason. Bashing or simply criticizing Jimmy before the championship game isnt accomplishing anything except pushing not only fans buttons, but players buttons as well.
I think this is a fairly accurate assessment of the problem. I don't actually think that too many people get bent out of shape about others having a difference of opinion. Where it becomes a problem is when people, on either side of the argument, repeat the same five talking points over and over and over and over and over again and then try and pretend that they are not responsible for helping to drive the QB threads into the heaping pile of toxic redundancy that they always become.
For instance there were something like 30 pages of posts, or whatever it was, "debating" whether or not the pass Jimmy threw to Deebo against Chicago was a "good" pass or not. It got there, he caught it, they scored a TD, WHO CARES.
Or spending the time and energy to find GIFs of Mahomes' and Allen throws to wide receivers to "prove" that balls that practically hit Kittle and Jennings in the hands, and were dropped, were badly thrown. I mean really, do people have any idea at all how completely obsessive and retarded that is. Jeez, get a life.
I have been characterized as a Jimmy "homer' and defender. I have a little over 1800 posts in this forum, in total, over the eight years or so that I have been actively involved in it. There are several people who have 3 or 4 times as may in this thread alone, just since Jimmy joined the team, who are now trying to claim that they "aren't trying to change anyone's mind". Fine, then quit posting so much Clearly I'm not the one who is obsessed with him. As Jonnydel pointed out these threads are now mostly about people trying to prove "they're right" and not really about Jimmy at all. Just a bunch of ego driven nonsense.
