Just because it's possible to extend Deebo without dramatically increasing his 2022 salary doesn't mean it's possible to do that AND make Deebo happy.

That would mean making him happy hurts the team. He doesn't seem like that guy. I don't see why he would want that.

I feel like the overwhelming majority of NFL players take the attitude that NFL teams are owned by billionaires, and they can find a way to make it work so pay me my damned money. It's usually only the ones that have already gotten theirs that take the team discount.

He doesn't need to take any kind of discount for this to work. He would get a massive raise.

Well that's on Deebo. The clown was wrong.

No, if Deebo wants his salary in 2022 to be dramatically raised, then TheGore49er is right and everyone who called him a clown needs to look in the mirror.

Thats not what he said... He said "Lynch literally said the plan is for Deebo to have a new contract this offseason. Can't happen with Jimmy still on the books bc we don't have enough money."

He's wrong as he always is. Then he has the audacity to try to call others out like a 🤡. We can to extend him with Jimmy on the books. Yes...we...can.. it was a 🤡 post.

Really? If Deebo wants 20 million per year for 2022, how are the 49ers going to pay him with Jimmy's contract, short of future-mortgaging restructures?

If the money is guaranteed in the future years regardless of injury, I'd imagine 2022 doesn't really matter. Unless he wants to buy a few mansions and some whips lol. He seems very down to earth tho.

To be fair. I can't see any scenario where JG is on this Ritter next year and at most we're getting a 4th, maybe a 3rd for him..... I'd just cut him and move on.

Quit moving the goalposts. The conversation from 🤡 was that we could not extend Deebo this year. I know you guys are all a clique but he was wrong as always. Let him protect himself for once.

Look at every contract extension in the last 10 years. First year is always minimum against the cap with huge signing bonus to spread out. He isn't getting 20 year one and a signing bonus.
Lol jiks learned how to use the clown emoji and now spams it like a teenager

And we don't do that. Look at the new contracts guys like AA, Warner, Kittle got. We don't back load that hard bc that's how you set yourself up for bad salary cap issues later on. You then are at the mercy of the player to want to restructure, and not every player wants to.

We are at 1.5 mil above the cap, there is no way to get Deebo on a contract that benefits us as well while Jimmy is on the books. Especially since we will have to sign our rookies.

Its going to blow people minds when we resign him to a massive contract and lower his cap hit.

Not really. At least not mine. I'm just saying it would be out of the norm when it comes to how we extend our own players.

It depends on how it's structured. He's already signed for 2022 so any extensions will be for 2023 and beyond.
