It's true all the Jimmy news comes from the BS smoke our team makes.
I'm guessing it's somewhat true but it's probably a 2nd-4th. This tells me they value the hell out of him as they've said since January. 2nd-4th or they keep him as they've said.
This QB class might be worse than we thought. All these QB teams just passing them over. Maybe Jimmy does get traded. Still doubting it
Worst QB class, everybody seems to know it and yet no one wants to trade for Jimmy.

Most teams have their starter already. Only a very very select few teams including us, don't have a clear cut named starter.

It's more his contract that's the problem than ability. Not a lot of teams have 26m just floating around.

We have a clear cut starter, it's Trey. Even if Jimmy stays, the Niners have been committing to Trey all off-season.

Only way Trey doesn't start week 1 at this point is injury or if he's extremely horrible in camp.

Have they though? Where exactly have they been committed as far as this season?

So Jimmy is even worse than them???

What's wrong with Willis? Good runner but can't hit the side of a barn? The small hands QB got drafted already too.

Naw ability is definitely part of it. If you believe Jimmy is an amazing QB, 26 mil would be a steal and teams would absolutely do whatever needed to make space for him.

If Jimmy was an amazing QB, we wouldn't have drafted Lance and putting Jimmy G up for trade.

Jimmy's a good QB. But no one thinks he's amazing. 26m isn't that bad for a QB in this day and age, but it's still expensive and not so easy to make cap space for.

26 million plus only a single season of contract plus injury. It's a terrible situation right now. Nobody wants to give up a lot for an injured rental. Come October and a guy(or Trey)goes down Jimmy's contract is ideal.

Not hard commitments as of yet, but a lot of reassurance in Lance and what not. Headlines such as:
— Kyle Shanahan 'ready' for Trey Lance to be 49ers' starter: 'I think that will be sooner (rather) than later'
— Trey Lance will start at QB for San Francisco 49ers 'sooner than later,' coach Kyle Shanahan says
— John Lynch: We believe Trey Lance is ready
— Golden Nuggets: Trey Lance has (reportedly) been told that he's starting

Take it how you want, but they were not saying the same things about Trey last year. The writing's on the wall.

Exactly no commitment...
Why not name him the starter?

On Jimmy

"When we start up, he's with our team," Shanahan said. "I expect him to be with us. I know his rehab is going to take longer. I don't think he's going to be ready to throw in OTAs so it will be a training camp thing."
