and arguably the best unwanted and unneeded drama in the nfl in regards to the qb thing.. not one good thing comes out of keeping him.

Lol I'm 100% behind Trey but if having a little competition bothers him that much then he's definitely not suited to be the guy. I don't see Jimmy starting unnecessary drama.

What Jimmy does should have no bearing on Treys future. The job will be his to lose and that would be on his poor play. I highly highly doubt that happens but my point is he's supposed to have a good head. I don't think a little competition will hurt him.

Timelines match up roughly. I would not be surprised

The fact that you even have to say arguably shows Jimmy's worth. If no one will trade for him, which seems obviously the case, he needs to be cut. We dont need a QB controversy or Trey to be looking over his shoulder all year.

Just be done with this.

there isnt a chance in hell that Jimmy is on the roster when the season starts unless he takes a severe pay cut and even then its unlikely. John Lynch has to say that to make a team desperate enough to trade for him in the preseason but he would be shown the door if he had a 27m backup QB

And the most expensive, by a lot.

Thought Kraft's girlfriend was an Asian chick that worked at a massage parlor.

I saw it too lol

its coming from people who know nothing about football. No mention that Jimmy was going to be a free agent and the Pats needed to trade him 😂

Except when people say drama no one is talking about competition. If you don't understand where the drama comes from, or why there would be drama....

When and where did you hear that competition bothered him? Seems to me it bothered Jimmy a helluva lot more, based on his recent comments. Not to mention a competition would take place during TC, when Jimmy may not even be capable of throwing.

"No, there's no awkwardness at all," Lance said last July regarding Garoppolo. "We're good friends. We got to spend a lot more time together now and definitely looking forward to continuing learning as much as I can from him. He's one of the best people that I've ever been around on and off the field. So just super excited to continue to learn this year as much as I can from him."

It is not technically a veteran quarterback's job to mentor his heir apparent. The team has coaches for that. Still, helping every player on the team play to the best of their abilities is a sign of good leadership, which is what Garoppolo's teammates rave about.

Garoppolo's leadership qualities might be a reason that the veteran being on the 49ers roster as the season approaches is not entirely impossible. Trade partners for the quarterback became scarce after he underwent successful shoulder surgery in March that will keep him from throwing a football until July.

The 49ers' locker room was completely behind Garoppolo as the starter throughout the season and would likely welcome him back upon his return.

A good QB overcomes drama. I'm not worried as It's part of their job. Jimmy deals with plenty from ungrateful fans and still does his thing. Conspiracies about his injuries because he opened a water bottle, all while having a guy breathe down his neck. If Trey really has a good head on his shoulders, which I feel confident he does, his talent will carry him.
