TC will have this settled. If Trey looks good in TC, he's gonna be the starter, especially since Jimmy won't be ready by then. If he looks bad, I guess then you can make an argument for sticking with Jimmy as the starter if nobody is gonna trade for him.

I mean... The way to dispel these rumors is to come out and say "Yes we are behind Trey 100% and he has the keys to the franchise".

Read the question that was asked. The interviewee doesn't have a say in the questions that are asked. They just answer them. I think you are reading to far into the response.

If Trey (and that's a big if) doesn't come into OTA's prepared of course there is a scenario where Jimmy would be given an opportunity to compete if he is ready to take reps come training camp. There wasn't any decline in statistics when Trey filled in for Jimmy last season. Trey has had another off season to work on his mechanics plus he had an opportunity to build chemistry with a few of his teammates. He would have to have regressed since the end of last season for them to make it an open competition. So while the scenario is "absolutely" possible, it is highly unlikely.
