Yeah I had an article bookmarked a while back on a different computer...it broken down a ton of plays and you can see him checking out of runs, which is fine if the defense is showing you something and you hit on the play.

It's weird we're all of a sudden going back to this game. s**t's over and people are trying to rewrite what actually happened. Jimmy messed up, Kyle didn't call the perfect game, D made some mistakes, couple missed pass-blocks etc. The fact that we lost the Super Bowl by so little even though our QB wasn't in the same stratosphere is pretty wild. We're just fine with Kyle.

I don't understand all the hate for Kyle. It really doesn't make any sense. The only thing I can tell folks is to just wait and see what happens now that Kyle has his guy. I really believe Kyle and Trey are going to own the NFC for the next 5-10 years. High expectations, I know but I can't help but be excited.

Fans will always complain about something and I feel like 49er fans are next level there. I would say there's about 7 or so teams that wouldn't take Kyle as their HC right now (give or take). He's a damn good coach and play-caller end of the day.

Yeah we will see what Lance becomes, it's not gonna be all-star football out of the gate and I feel like people (mainly the ones who didn't want him) are gonna s**t on him throughout the process.

That wasn't on Jimmie. Was on Moseley.

Yeah. He didn't get beat on a double move. Ward made the right read on the ball broke on it and once Moseley blew his assignment Hill beelined it to the sideline. I provided the coverage and breakdown a year or so ago from some coordinators I found online. They all agreed Saleh made the right call and Jimmie made the right read based on the coverage.

He literally got beat/turned around on a late double move then jogs along with no sense of urgency. He's the single high S and responsible for the deep shots; last line of defense. And yes, Moseley was supposed to carry him throughout too.

You argue this every time. I'm going with a professional DB's opinion on this one. Sorry.

because he gave up airballs to Tyreek Hill?

Jimmy was only 90% responsible for the Super Bowl loss. There's plenty of blame to go around for that last 10%.

The defense folded big. A huge amount of responsibility is on them. More than Jimmy G.

I don't know how someone can put a percentage on it but I would put blame on Jimmy, the defense and Kyle for abandoning the run in the second half.

Totally agreed. Pass protection lead to a head shot with a possible concussion, an INT when hit, knock downs on crucial 3rd downs, defense gave up 21 points in 5 minutes after immediately going up 2 scores with 7 minutes to go, poor late ST punt and piss poor return when needed, Kyle getting away from running which had momentum and had their defense gassed and on their heals, crucial penalties, Jimmy cracking under pressure, clock management, officials not calling a PF against Jimmy, allowing holding all game long and offsides (for the Chiefs only), etc.

Just another epic team collapse.

Hopefully next time, we'll have a QB who can calm the huddle down and help transcend the other team issues and make some clutch plays to swing momentum back in our favor and close it out!

Yeah wasn't pretty...lowest QB rating in the 4th QR in Super Bowl history on top of all of that. Checking out of runs, missed reads, over throws...team loss end of the day though a lot went wrong. IMO end of the day it's hard to compete vs a guy like Mahomes when your QB isn't close to that talented. Kyle and Co. almost got it done though.

That's what he does when he cracks! It's almost like an immediate epidemic too. His "calming" in the huddle gets the team to a certain level but when there's an immediate comeback, there's a panic that just seems to resonate, starting with him and spreads like wildfire. Hard to watch.

Yeah it's very confusing...We've seen Jimmy make some game winning drives, but overall when it mattered most (playoffs) he's been pretty poor overall. Not all on him though.

I really don't care what you are going off of. I gave you the coverage calls made by Saleh and Reid and the player responsibilities and you just ignored it per usual because when you make your mind up on something you will never concede anything. I'm done arguing with on this s**t. Wasn't even responding to you actually lol

No question about it.

49ers fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL imo. I'm thankful for the few dozen rational, intelligent, insightful fans that post here on the zone and have kept me coming back to this page daily since forever.

The irony of you writing this in a WZ QB thread is hilarious...always, far and away, the least rational of all the WZ threads.

But I hear ya!
