What about the "but" part says anything different? The "but" part has nothing to do with Jimmy being the starter and everything to do with the fact they're telling the NFL they're not just gonna cut Jimmy, especially before he's even cleared. They don't have too.
What key's are you talking about? It's May rookie mini camp. Lance will be getting all the 1st team reps in OTAs. If Jimmy is practicing and taking all the 1st string snaps in TC, like last yr then you have something to go off of. As of right now Lance is being treated as the starter by the players and Kyle...simply based off the fact that they WANT to trade Jimmy. They just haven't been able too, it's not the hard to understand.
"Because we obviously believe Trey can be a starter and we're ready to do that. But..."
Doesn't say Trey is the starter, They say they believe he can be and they are ready... But if they cant trade Jimmy then things will be different.
Because as I said I think Trey is the presumed starter but they are leaving the door open for Jimmy. It's been clear as day and I have provided actual 100% word for word quotes to back it up. Unlike the opposite side who flat out say the entire FO is lying. I don't believe this "they are lying to trade Jimmy" conspiracy as I've pointed out if you and I can figure it out, so can a professional GM. The coaches literally say Trey is the future but not once have they committed to Trey. Not once have they came out and said it's his job. Again it's his to lose, but it's not his until he earns it or Jimmy is traded.
Wiil you call Kyle/John Liars when jimmy is gone ?
No because they have openly said they are looking to trade Jimmy but they also are plenty ready to keep him if they don't get a trade.
Nothing they have said is a lie. They have been pretty straight forward. They want to trade Jimmy but if they "can't...
upgrade our team in another way, we're not going to just get rid of a good quarterback because we have other quarterbacks on the roster. Quarterbacks are really hard to come by, some teams don't have any at all, and the fact that we have three that we're happy with, that is a good thing."
Nothing... As you said they have spent the money they have and FA is pretty much bottom of the barrel by now. If they truly wanted to upgrade Jimmy would've been gone. That money is as good as spent on Jimmy and future Deebo and Bosa contracts. If they release Jimmy it's not like they can sign some big name guy that doesn't even exist at this point. It's not like they can sign a multi-year deal as Deebo and Bosa will easily be 55-60 million.
