If they were smart, which they aren't, they would let JG start. I just rewatched this game ... Jimmy rushed for 2 tds, the Bears have never beaten him and it's his hometown. Lance could beat the Bears, but it's not as sure a thing. Fields had a nice game against the 49ers, and next year he'll be better.

I find it very difficult to believe what I keep hearing, the 49ers are going to trust the season to Trey Lance. That's very risky, rookies start for bad teams ... not good ones like the 49ers. I don't think that Lance will win the close games, I don't think he'll make it to the post season, but at least you won't have Jimmy Garoppolo to kick around anymore.

You are not allowed to have this opinion in here. How dare you.

LOL... did someone just posted MORE negative things about KS10?

OR did someone just tried confirming that The Best Mind In Football wont have anyone else to point to once Grappy's gone... wait wait.. the rest of team still under the HC..

At some point, we need to see what Lance can do. If we fail to reach the playoffs this season with Lance at the helm, it's fair to say Kyle and Lynch messed up big time.

What part of Trey's performance last season has folks feeling like the glass is half empty? Sure. He missed some reads. Jimmy missed plenty of them last season as well. Trey also showed he can make up for his inexperience by making ad-lib plays. Something Jimmy rarely does. Trey can only become more experienced by playing through and learning from his mistakes. Imo, he has shown enough good that he should be given the opportunity to learn on the job. It also helps having Shanahan as your play caller but maybe thats just me.

I'm not expecting a lot from Baby Face, I'm just hoping we have a bright future w/him...

is he ready? who can SAY? we'll all find out and lets all support this kid..

GO NINERSSSSSS !!!

I agree though 2 games isn't even a fraction of his career. He did show positive traits but that means nothing until he gets more filmed and game planned against.

Sure. It is an unkown. It will remain an unknown until we take that leap. We used 3 1st round draft picks to select this guy. He showed some ups and downs in his limited playing time. He also showed significant growth from pre season through the Texans game. He is a young QB who is intelligent, hard working and has plenty of talent to be successful.

If this glass is half empty attitude is because you all are affraid of the unknown. I have to say, that is no way to live.

I'm not afraid of the unknown... I want the best QB out there unlike you guys who are terrified of competition. I want Trey because his ceiling is extremely high and I know Jimmy's ceiling but if he can't do what Jimmy has done his healthy seasons and get us deep into the playoffs then stick with Jimmy. You guys would rather it be Trey or lose... Be honest. It's not about football with you guys. It's about the Jimmy being gone... Nothing else. No matter if it hurts the team.

My glass is I want to win no matter who
Your glass is hatred towards a player. Nothing more

Unlike you dudes I can support both and enjoy both. I don't have to bring down one to make myself feel good about the other.

That's ludicrous. Most QBs don't really figure it out until year three or four. It's possible Lance struggles in year 2 and makes All Pro in year six. No reasonable person will get nervous about Trey until year three or four.

That was before Jimmy went and sabotaged his own trade value by first saying no surgery and then getting it late. Don't be disingenuous. It's not a good look.

First of all, I made it known to you that I am not affraid of competition. I don't care if they cut him in at the start of TC or if he is cut the day before the start of the season. I actually don't believe there would be much of a competition at all though. If Trey comes into OTA's prepared and ready to take over, Jimmy will become an after thought.

So what you are afraid of is losing the regular season instead of losing another NFCCG or SB? Jimmy has not proven that he can win a SB. So where does this extreme confidence come from?

Yes. Thanks for not denying that you only care about Jimmy being gone nothing more. Respect.

My confidence is his only two healthy seasons he's gotten us to the NFCC or SB. My confidence is his third leading winning %. My confidence is his undeniable record to help the team win.

Now what leads you to believe he can't do it again? Fairy tales...

What Qbs are you referring too? Most young Qbs look good from the get go these days, especially ones that are drafted by talented teams. The only ones who struggle, are the one's drafted by bad teams. We replaced Jimmy to move forwards, not to go backwards.

What? Lose another SB or NFCCG?

Yeah...

At least you hypocritically finally admitted QBs win and lose games. That was like pulling teeth. Too bad you hypocritically only give him credit for the losses.

I also take this as an admittance you'd rather lose than win as long as it's not Jimmy.

Good conversation today. We got a lot done.

Do we let JG have the Bears game since he has ownage?
