I'd be happy with a money round 5th. Salvaging anything at this point would be turning a frown upside down.

Sure. I would be happy with anything at this point. I just don't see that much of an advantage for the Browns to trade when they could just sit a few weeks and pick him up in FA, while also enticing Jimmy with a better offer, like SWH said. The Browns gave up a lot of draft capital for DW. I don't think its in their best interest to give up any more of their draft picks, especially for what they hope is only a 1 year rental.

The only reason the Browns make a trade is if they think he'll sign somewhere else, like Seattle or Pittsburg.

The big counter-point to that assumption is the oline of the gaining team could be a significant tie breaker. The Browns have a big advantage over the Hawks, and probably most other teams.

I think Jimmy goes to Seattle only as a last resort for him. Jimmy's best chance at earning a better contract next season would be CLE or possibly PIT. But does anyone have a source of PIT being interested?

lol what is the logical conclusion? if they wait until hes cut, itll be harder to "acquire" him
Brwons would be the best Qb needy team to go to in FA

who the hell knows what jimmy wants. we do know that cleveland is tied to watson long term. he could just as easily go to seattle and have success throwing to metcalf and lockett and want to stay there.
jimmy himself has told everyone lol

Would love to add him to the RB stable for this year.

I'd like to add him so he can serve as the designated tackling dummy for the defense during camp.

Same. f**k that guy
So the Browns are now considering Jimmy if the suspension goes longer.

Hmmmm, should I go with a healthy JG or Jacoby Brissett..........tough decision apparently.

There are factors at play. Per the reports, Colts didn't want JG as he wouldn't be able to work this offseason and rep it up in their system. I imagine other clubs felt the same way. Brissett was added the day after Watson was brought into CLE. He's a good fall back.. a fringe starter type player..

My question and Pat McAfee asked this on his show.. if they didn't think Brissett was the guy in the event of a Watson suspension.. why did they sign him..

It's a good question...

Brissett has a many months head start working all offseason with the CLE coaches and players.. that matters..

If you thought your QB was only going to get a few game suspensions. Would you still try to get the expensive serviceable QB?

He wouldn't sign there. If we cut him, I can only see him going somewhere he has the chance to be a long term starter. Why would he sign there just to be back in this situation again next year?

Because he needs to build his value back up. He also needs to prove he can stay healthy before any team is giving him another long term contract.

he could do a 1 year prove it deal and get a fat paycheck after that if he proves he can stay healthy and make a playoff run. honestly wouldnt be a bad deal for him, theyre kind of stacked

This has been brought up before I believe by SWH.. you don't see a lot of QB movement this close to the season.. for good reason.. teams have built their rosters and been working with them extensively..

I would welcome any trade and comp no doubt just not gonna expect it. JG has demonstrated he's not reliable health wise.. Difference between ability which he has, and reliability.

Listening to Ryan Leaf he said about 9 clubs would trade their starter straight up for JG right now... if you put contracts and other stuff aside.. just looking at talent. And if anyone knows NFL QB.. clearly it's Ryan Leaf

Trade season was long ago.. and back then JG was not fit to throw a ball..

I just don't see one good, healthy year erasing how he's currently viewed by the league. Maybe, again just my opinion. But I wouldn't unless it was a big payday. Don't think the Brownies would give us much in trade for him, but if we got anything, be more than what I've been thinking.

If he was that good, there would be no Trey Lance or JG would be gone by now. This a QB driven league where there is a huge premium put on that position. Teams go decades in search for high end QBs and will give their left nut to get one. . There is always a market for great QBs. He just isn't one. The entire league has spoken.
