Really? I'm pretty optimistic about the changing of the guards. I think we'll see some drop off this year, but not too much. And for the money we save, I think this is better for the team. Not really a Buckner situation, but close.

First pass of the game Burford, who supposedly is tearing up camp, got his lunch money taken forcing Lance to scramble. I know he's playing RG, but maybe someone better is at RG if Laken is at LG.

The product on the field for one, but its mainly from the reports that he frequently ghosted the team (coaches, FO, and players) during the offseason. If you're paying someone $25 million a year, you'd expect them to be a little more dedicated than a seasonal mall Santa.

Lol pure desperation for you are this point
Yeah, Jimmy's future is not looking good

So he made a mistake on one of his first ever snaps in the NFL. It happens. If he's tearing it up in camp, that means he's doing it against one of the best D lines in the league. I'll withhold judgment.

I'm a natural pessimist. I hope you're right.

I see where you're coming from, but the only thing the Browns have to do is wait till 30 Aug. They may be the only team that is offering a clear cut path to a starting job.

It seems like the only thing the Browns are gaining is that they don't have to compete with other teams if they do a trade.

They gain two weeks of him acclimating to the playbook and practicing.

It's not guaranteed. Just talk to his agent and negotiate what you will pay him. Jimmy would be crazy not to want to go play there.

9ers shouldn't pick up a penny.

Unless a 2nd rd pick or higher we be stupid to take on his salary in any way.

Jimmy has to negotiate a salary reduction with the Browns. Niners should not have to pick up any portion of anything.

Exactly! Browns want him, they have to pay him. This is Jimmy's one chance to start, so he should accommodate the Browns. We can just release him, get the 24+ million in cap space to sign Bosa. No need for a draft pick.

Although if they can give us a 5th round or higher, it would be appreciated! 🏆👉💰👈🏆😁

It seems like the Niners most realistic option is a conditional mid round pick that can escalate if the Browns do well.
Will Jimmy even get a mention from the Browns if it's a 1 yr suspension for Watson

I feel like even with a year suspension, Cleveland if interested will just wait till hes cut then try to work a deal with him without losing any picks.

One writer wrote a story that a "source" allegedly said he did not spend all his time in Santa Clara after he signed his contract. ONE writer who was quoted by others does not equate to "reports" plural.

You have your opinion but don't deliberately misrepresent the story just because you don't like the guy.

And they will run the risk of Zac's injury being season ending and get beat to the punch, or another QB going down and starting a bidding war. (Very very unlikely but possible)
12,15,18,25 mil for a QB is nothing for the Browns (or any team) are you really going to throw a season away over 25 million max and roll with Brissett?
The Browns are between a rock and a hard place and he's the last best starting option available at this point. The only other options they'd have would be Kap or coax Luck out of retirement or Rivers (which he said he was open to if called on). *Insert sarcasm* if any of those guys get the gig and not JG even the most homer of JG homers will have to admit no one wants him.

Why risk losing him in FA to another team, if they can just give up a draft pick and negotiate a new lower contract? They also would want him in as soon as possible, to get reps in training camp, as apposed to waiting until September to acquire him.

What draft pick is worth two weeks of Jimmy in the pre season?

With every passing day, this thing is getting more and more silly.
