Handful of those missed plays. Ah well, time to turn the page

Yes, sir. It is kind of funny that Trey made that same type of throw that would have been needed in the NFCCG for a 76 yard TD this past Friday night though.

Jimmy did make that same throw. With a broken thumb. Aiyuk just couldn't stay in bounds.

Maybe Lance should have played the 4th Q? You know cause Jimmy had a broken thumb and shoulder.

WHAT IF ?!?

Or...

Warner got lucky. Hit Stafford in the head on Wards INT. Wasn't called.

Was a total defensive brain fart after Greenlaw left the game.

Tartt walking around in the backfield. Easy TD pass for Stafford.

Missed assignments. Dropped INT. Ward spears Beckham in the face. Al-Shaair too many stupid plays to name.

But yeah a couple missed Jimmy throws is what killed them.

lol

Yea. So did Jimmy and our running game.
Regardless of what the defense did or did not do, how often does 17 points on offense win a game in the NFL? Only 3 teams averaged less than 17 points per game on offense in 2021. Only 4 teams held teams to less than 20 points per game. If you give up only 20 points you'll usually win and if you only score 17 you'll almost always lose in normal weather conditions.

I have brought this point up a few times in the past. If the offense scores less than 24 points and the team loses, that loss is on the offense. If the defense gives up more than 24 points and the team loses, that loss is on the defense. At least that is the way I see it anyway.

This is how I feel about times like the 2011 NFC championship. Everyone remembers Kyle Williams' mistakes but the offense getting shut down aside from two bombs to Vernon (1/10 on 3rd down) forced the team into a tightrope act where they have to play mistake free football to pull out a win, they didn't and lost 20-17. The end of last year against the Rams felt similar. The hope is that the offense going forward can take charge at times and overcome those mistakes if need be. This team hasn't truly had that ability since Young retired. Kap teased it during his SB run when the defense couldn't get a stop to save its life, but that was lightning in a bottle.

That's probably true during the regular season but in the playoffs, defenses often take over. That seems to be true in all sports. It makes sense since the best teams usually have good defenses. By the time you get to the SB or conference championship the defenses are primed and ready. It also comes down to health. Missing one or two key players can be enough to make the difference unless it's a rare blowout like the Niners beatdown of the Broncos.

There isn't always dominant defense in the playoffs. Just look at the Bills, Chiefs, Bengals, Bucs and Rams offenses last year in the playoffs. They all averaged over 24 ppg. You wouldn't blame the Bills offense for losing that game against the Chiefs, would you?
Bunch of Jimmyscuses up in these last few pages.

Our defense held an offense that had a QB who threw for 41TDs, which is good for 2nd most only behind Brady(43), to just 20 points. This offense also had the eventual super bowl MVP and offensive player of the year.

All that offensive power and only 20 points scored. Were y'all expecting the defense to shut them out?

You have a highly paid QB who's a veteran to the system with all his receivers healthy and all he could muster was 17 points.

Umm yea…ima say had our offense done a bit more we wouldn't have had to rely on turnovers to seal the game. Y'all whine about Tartt but Jimmy literally threw it to Ramsey, hit him in the numbers and everything, and Ramsey dropped it.

Jimmy just had to make a few more plays but couldn't.

Yeah no the Warner hit only looks bad from the broadcast angle the all 22 showed that the hit incidental and not deserving of a penalty

You can't tell from the all 22. You can from the sideline replay. Fred puts the crown of his helmet in the back of Staffords ear hole. lol
