Seems like it. Even if the Browns were interested, are they really going to pay him $25 million and give up a draft pick just to get him in the building a week earlier? If they wait until we cut him, they can probably sign him for about $5 million.

I'm not so sure he'd want to sign with Browns as a FA. It basically puts him right back in this situation after next season, with Watson returning. If they're the only team to offer him a contract, sure. But if they have to compete with others for his services, seems like he'd want a longer term situation.

Signing a one year deal with CLE is a gamble that may pay off with a multiyear deal as a 2023 free agent. CLE has some pieces in place, more so than other teams that may want to sign him.

Maybe. In that scenario he would be available earlier to teams than he was this year due to his surgery, and teams wouldn't have to give up draft comp. But I still don't see any possible scenario where he plays better than he did under Shanahan. Think his stock is as high now as it'll ever be. Guess we'll see.
I know a few Seahawk fans who are salivating, hoping we release him and save them from the Geno and Drew show.
Keep him on the roster to prevent him from going to SeAdderall, and let him rot on his couch for the season as punishment for being a s**tty communicator

Not interested in helping out my most hated sports team

Hmmm if I were them I would want to tank. It's really tough to admit that as a fan so I get it. Football seasons are short and offseasons are so long so tanking sucks. Jimmy would put them around the 16-21st pick I bet. Not great and you'd be living in mediocrity

Why does anyone bring up the $25M it's fake numbers and should have zero baring on why a team shouldn't trade for him. It's f**king dumb to even talk about it.

he will have a new deal via cut OR trade. Plain and simple. Now if the browns are cool with tanking the season with brisket because they're unwilling to toss a conditional pick and $10M for Jimmy, that's fine. Saying they're gonna have to take on $25M is a lie.

Pretty awful mindset to go into a football season with, to quote Kyle Shanahan "there's no guarantee we'll be alive", if it's November and your team only has 1 or even 0 wins, then I could get it, just imagine hoping your favorite team fails for a high draft pick that may or may not be good, then you end up passing away (god forbid) in an auto accident, disease etc

Yea I agree with that 100% I never wanted any Niners teams to tank. We all watched pick after pick suck between 2002-2011ish. Give or take. Just terrible football. I am trying to put myself in their underwear and maybe try to get that Alabama QB. Bryce Young. I dunno. I don't care F em

What's that 27M going to do for the team up until the end of the season?
