Sources close to the Deshaun Watson situation believe a resolution could come today or tomorrow. Recent talks between NFL and Watson's reps have heightened hope that they can reach a settlement without Peter C. Harvey having to rule, but it's unclear how much longer he will wait.

Yes. This is a punishment.

It sure does suck. I wish we could have gotten something in return for him.

I mean none of this should really be news to anyone cause we've been hearing it during his time here, in particular from Kittle. But yeah to your point; most definitely not what any team would want in a "franchise QB"

You should be eating up this latest bad press. It would be a solid way for you to backtrack even more than usual. You could say, "see, I was right all along, JG is really good, it's just this off field stuff that torpedoed his trade value." I mean, you've gone from, "JG is great," to "JG is very good," to "JG just wins," to "but his QBR was higher than...," to "JG is above average," to "JG is a solid starter," to "it's JG's injury,"...and now we have finally arrived at, "just release JG because no one is trading for him." I mean it's weird behavior to be sure.
But I don't know what's to gain from this character assassination type stuff basically. It doesn't help the team and it certainly doesn't help Jimmy.
If one wants to criticize his play or abilities, well at times that went overboard as well but that's fair game.
I know the media is going to media regardless but this is kind of silly stuff. It's almost like presidential election type silly stuff like "Mitt Romney let his dog ride on top of his car and has binders of women."
"Jimmy G disappeared after signing a big contract and is some sort of weird horrible person."
Again, it's odd. Probably shouldn't have done it. But if he's more of a private person and that's just who he is than that's just who he is.

But he is such a good team mate.

One can be a good team mate on the field, in the huddle, in the locker room during the season and still be kind of flaky and want to do their own thing away from everyone else.
I'm not trying to defend him so much. I mean in one sense you're ghosting your employer. It is in a very real sense disrespectful. Whether it's intentionally so or not.
But at the same time as usual people are just letting their overall less than great feelings about Jimmy color this as well.
I don't think Tom Brady is the greatest team mate. In fact, from a distance he seemed like a whiny, finger pointing douchebag his last year in New England. Obviously he's miles better as a quarterback compared to Jimmy though.
