I agree it makes sense but I don't see the Browns doing it. They probably think that Brissett can keep them around .500. Which I disagree but I just don't see it happening. I live in Browns country and the team is stupid

If Browns would rather lose then give up a conditional pick and a revamped one yr deal for Jimmy. Then that's on them. Good luck selling Brissett to the browns for 11 games

They have already alienated half of their fanbase with the trade so I doubt that they care about fan approval. Almost every fan I know of already claim that they will not root for the Browns while he is there. And since I'm in Browns country that is a lot of people.

Also the Browns always lose, they are immune to it

You live in Browns country? I understand your frustration.. everyone be kind to this poor soul

Yup I live 2 hours away from Cleveland, 1 hour from Detroit and 3 hours from Cincinnati.... the cesspool of the NFL

At least you can get Skyline Chili, Detroit Pizza, and Cleveland.. whatever they serve there..

Deli sandwiches and crack that's about all they have haha

7-4 vs. 4-7 can make or break a season Just one game was the difference

Is it confirmed 11 games isn't enough for the Browns to pursue Jimmy? I feel like starting 7-4 vs. 4-7 could make or break their season and Jimmy vs. Jacoby could easily be the difference in that.

Maybe, when he's released they sign him, but a trade I think is dead at this point.

Trade might be 50 50. I certainly don't think it is dead, but if it is going to happen, it will happen quickly.

There is a good chance the Browns won't be able to sign Jimmy G. From Jimmy G's perspective, Seahawks makes much more sense. If he has options, he won't chose the Browns to head back to the bench after 11 games. He won't be "The QB" in the locker room.

When's the trade deadline? I wonder if the Browns would consider starting Jimmy ~8 games, trading Jimmy to recoup a little bit of cap space and draft capital, starting Brissett ~3-4 games and then back to Watson

I heard that if they trade Jimmy in the season they can carry over part of that money to next year or something like that. Is that true?

Yes, that total salary is pro rated over the 17 games so whenever they decide to cut/trade him, they are paying on a game-by-game basis. Albeit, expensive game-by-game basis. The rest will carry over to the cap for next year.

So it makes more sense to keep him and tell a team like the Browns give in and make a trade. They get a pic and extra cap space next year. If that's correct

It does not.

Now do the team's perspective, since ultimately that is what matters most.

It will take Watson time to get into game shape. The odds of the Browns making the playoff this season with Brissett playing 11 games not good. Not sure if Jimmy G changes that. Jimmy G is certainly better, but maybe not if he joins the team so late.

Not sure if the Browns ownership and FO have pressure to make it to the playoff this season.

So the 49ers were upset with Jimmy's lack of communication with the team, yet still decided to stick with him after 2019 when Brady was begging to be a Niner?

wut?!

I was just saying the Browns cannot be betting to get Jimmy G in FA. If they want Jimmy G, they need to trade for him.
