I heard that if they trade Jimmy in the season they can carry over part of that money to next year or something like that. Is that true?

Yes, that total salary is pro rated over the 17 games so whenever they decide to cut/trade him, they are paying on a game-by-game basis. Albeit, expensive game-by-game basis. The rest will carry over to the cap for next year.

So it makes more sense to keep him and tell a team like the Browns give in and make a trade. They get a pic and extra cap space next year. If that's correct

It does not.

my god,,,, it makes no sense. zero to keep him., my god.. we over valued jimmy and played chicken with the nfl after the year and no one bit... shouldersurgeryexcuses not withstanding

The point is to not do Jimmy nor Seattle any favors.

Pretty much this, the longer they hold him the less likely he will be signing with an offense he isnt familiar with. Most likely he signs with a team who's OC is from the Shanny tree where if someone gets hurt he can step in, not miss a beat and possibly excel so the next season he can get a better contract and start again.

Might be worth keeping Jimmy if Staffords got a bum elbow…… With Seattle and possibly the Rams as landing spots we might just be better off holding onto him for a few games.

no,, no,, no... not one good thing comes from him on the team... done.. done done

I think that entire narrative is overblown.

We know why Jimmy can do. I'd rather see Purdy could do if Lance ever got hurt lol
The real problem was the Niners trying to be in good faith with Jimmy. Should've shipped him to Washington when they had the chance.

Why does this simple fact hurt their feelings so much? Lol

this is the bottom line... we have seen what jimmy can do or more ,what he is either unable or unwilling to do.. lets set trey in the next game and see how the battle for number two goes. to me.. that is our issue in regards to the qb thing for our team right now., wobbly balls aside,. jimmy is not a part of this at all in my opinion

As have been many narratives created over this past off-season, which has been the worst in living memory for me.

Cisco, this is a blatant disregard of the natural order of things aka the depth chart. Please edit this to Sudfeld, who will actually dress this season in uniform.. thank you in advance..

They had a chance? What did Washington offer? Link
