Apparently, at least according to some fans, it was all a part of this highly secretive poker game John Lynch had with the NFL world.
Everybody knew Jimmy G was injured and recovering from shoulder surgery to repair the injury, but sneaky John Lynch played it too close to the vest and lost, I guess.
Couldn't sneak it by other teams that Jimmy G would not have been able to pass a physical until he recovered and rehabilitated his shoulder. What a loser.
I have said this from the jump (and yes I realize its an opinion), but I believe the injury/surgery in and of itself was not the reason teams were apprehensive about trading for Jimmy.
Teams werent willing to trade for him because of his injury history and skillset, not this particular injury that every medical professional who commented on it agreed would be fully recovered from and/or even stronger post surgery. If Russell Wilson had this surgery in the offseason, you think teams wouldnt have been lining up to try to trade for him even with a shortened offseason due to rehab? Of course they would have.
So really, the issue is that Jimmy is unreliable and cant stay on the field...combined with his actual skillset. Teams werent willing to trade for him and take the chance that he can stay healthy. A 3 month injury where he was expected to be fully recovered from isnt the reason teams stayed away. Thats just an excuse IMO.
