Is Jimmy part of the qb room during this offseason at all... if not, they have no plan for him to be with the team this season.

Hasnt been to a meeting or practiced on the same field all off season. He gone.

Thats not completely true he was seen throwing on the sidelines earlier in TC. But yes I don't expect to be on the team come September 11th.
The deadline is August 30th

I think the real deadline, if they're going to stretch it out, is September 10th. Then his salary becomes FGD after that.
I haven't seen that one. I saw the 53 man roster deadline was the 30th so I assumed if he's on the 53 he's pretty much on the team with salary

The 49ers have to cut down to a 53-man roster on August 30th, although they can keep Jimmy Garoppolo and his non-guaranteed salary until September 10th, which is the date when his $24.2 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed.
But he will take a roster spot if he lasts past the 30th?

I don't think that's worth it

Agreed, not losing an actual player that will contribute is more valuable than holding onto Jimmy for 10 days hoping to get a 7th round pick. For example would you rather keep a player like Hasty or lose him and keep Jimmy for 10 days and release him.

Would be extremely dumb so we probably will keep him for nothing.

Unfortunately I could see them being very stubborn about it. I think it is dumb to release him pre cut day but I think it is equally dumb to hold him until the 10th.

Jimmy's gone, you guys have to accept that already. The denial stage should've ended a while ago.

There's no comparison with Brady, only that it's tough to close the deal once you get there. Where has Jimmy gone? Oh, he's still around. As I said before, who is the backup?

Why would you say who's the back up? When it's already known, Nate and Brock

Have you just completely tuned out for training camp???

His contract is first game he is guaranteed, which is 9/11. So 9/10 he can be cut and not get his contract. But after 8/30 he would have to be named to the 53 man roster for those 12 days and take someone who is actually making the team spot. I dont expect that.

Jimmy's been a bad boy.

To tell the truth my interest in pro sports is waning. I stopped Direct TV several years ago and it's a different game than the one I loved in my youth. Oddly enough I'm watching Baseball again, it's the first sport I played. In a Little League Championship game I hit a 2 out grand slam home run to win the game. As my teammates mobbed me I thought will anything ever be better than this, you can guess the answer.

Isn't it a bit of an unfair advantage playing little league as an adult man?

Jed comes out and says we can keep Jimmy on the roster. A few years back both Joe and Steve went down and Bono finished the season, we went 10-6. We could've won it all that season with Bono at QB but couldn't make the dance. The moral of the story, a reliable backup can still take you all the way.

Worst possible option

Plus he said reliable back up. Jimmy does not check that box on 2 fronts.

Depends on how drunk he was
