2) he got his deal after 5 games with us.

It's really common sense what I'm saying.

1) No drama here. Need is a strong word. If there was a need for Jimmy he'd be plenty gone by now. Are the dots now connecting?

2) ...when he was much younger, and clouded in alot more mystery around the league. Those 5 games he had 7 TDs, 5 INTs, right? Not exactly lighting it up, but our staff rolled the dice. What's that gotta do with now? You seeing a team do this again with him?

Lol I'm not going to fight over common sense. Go pick a fight with someone else. What I said is extremely, extremely basic and you're just being dramatic and taking it out of context.

Peace
Peacing it out is a very smart move on this one IMO, because...

Instead of focusing/forcing on what another poster doesnt get, how about responding to the introduced counterpoints? (No TC/Offseason with a desperate team that didn't exactly fight for him). There's nothing wrong with disagreeing about football, just stick to the topic and back up your stance (unless I've changed your mind?)

Let's also not pretend like he ended last year on IR either. Teams just weren't that crazy about his game.

Shorter sample size or not, do you see plenty of room for him to do better in 2022 than he did last year with us? Anything is possible but clearly, I don't. What is your opinion? Make this sense common, Trey.

What are talking about? I simply said he will sign with a team that needs him(ie needs a backup). He will sign there to hopefully get his chance to play and to earn himself a contract and he's content doing that. That's literally all I'm saying drama boy.

Now seriously WTF are you talking about?

You said YOU THINK he's perfectly content with signing a smaller 1 year deal with a team that needs him in hopes of getting a better deal the next year.

I disagree. I think he's trying to get whatever he can get now. He even risked "playing hurt" for awhile in hopes of collecting more money instead of doing the surgery early and getting in line for his next team. Clearly this is a guy that's trying to collect and secure whatever assets he can NOW,.. and the playing career is secondary.

There was never any misunderstanding about your initial point,...I just think it doesn't make much sense. Barring a miracle I dont see a better deal popping up for him in 2023.

For another small deal?

He is never getting another deal like he did here. He has to know this.
Again common sense.

This was not common sense a few months ago. Many posters claimed to know that Jimmy's new deal would increase in value.

He's trying to get whatever he can 3 weeks before the season starts. Brilliant

He's been trying to get whatever he can since the offseason began. It didn't quite work out the way he intended,...so here we are.

Exactly... Now he will sign a small deal in hopes of getting a bigger deal with no contract to turn teams away. One season does not make or break a career. Really basic s**t dude. He was injured this offseason and that out a damper on everything. If he's healthy next year there will be more suitors, especially if he gets a chance to play and play well.

Common sense. If he was worried about this year he would've demanded a trade or release. Thus being content.

Damnit I let myself feed the Jimmy addicts.

Sorry Trey.

You are changing your words around,...you know this right? Your OP said Jimmy's perfectly content with signing a smaller deal (in your opinion). I disagree that he's perfectly content with this and backed it up with several points regarding why.

But now [you are saying] it's only "in hopes" of getting lucky with the next deal after that and nothing else, right?

So you're playing this half-in, half-out game regarding how 2023 looks for him and how much he'll impress the next place he goes (in 2022). You don't want to respond to the counterpoints because I guess they just hurt too much to read?

You want me to help you? You can pretend that his shoulder was really killing him all year. Alot worse than we were led to believe and he's gonna really start killing it on the deep balls now. His interest will spike and boom. TreyDey is happy.

But yea....he opted to be injured for much of the critical period of this offseason for contractual reasons. Please don't leave out that tidbit when introducing the "he was injured" line as if he had little to do with it.

Each day that passes makes it more likely that the Niners will wait until the last day and then release him. I'm not hearing any strong trade rumors.

We passed the obvious point of this outcome long ago.

teams know they can wait us out.. lynch has been hoping other teams will blink for months.. not happening..... so move on. do not fret or worry about where he will go. just be happy this distraction is done and we have some extra money

Even if a QB gets injured today, no one is moving to trade for him. Why would they?

Jimmy and his agent have to really be concerned with the lack of interest. He'll be a free agent and I have to wonder how much any team is going to pay him. Will he get more than a one year deal?

This just in. The Las Vegas Insomniacs of the A7FL, who went 0-6 in 2022, are close to trading for Jimmy G.

No wait, I've just received word from my producer LVI has withdrawn their offer since they saw the last drive of Jimmy G against the Rams plus they do not think he can make the entire 8 game season.

Stay tuned for future developments.
I think the real question now is whether we cut him at 53 man roster deadline or if we wait it out til the day before week 1 (when we can still avoid his guaranteed salary).

A trade is basically off the table.
