All this time of hearing Jimmy G's Quick Release.....

underrated post right here

Fastest 5 yard throws in the league.
Toys with other teams with giving the ball back by INTs

The surg turned the quick release into a 6 month release.

46 total games

34-12 (74%)

27 points per game

9 late-game drives that produced wins (or, 26% of those 34 wins)

14 = worst point-differential loss

When Jimmy played a full game for the Niners, they were extremely tough to beat.

There are the facts.

Its also a fact that Jimmy played a full game for the 49ers roughly 60% of the time. That fact alone should make anything else irrelevant and make even the biggest fans of his ready to move on. You cant have that in your starting QB. Period.

It's also very possible that the Niners record would have been very similar with any one of about 20 other QBs in the
league. During one of those periods where Jimmy was hurt, they were also missing some defensive starters including Bosa.

Jimmy G's biggest accomplishment so far is getting us Bosa.

Let's say JG is released and signs with Seattle, how long do you think he remains healthy behind that horrible OLine?

This is a good point.
Though I would say that the Seahawks with a healthy Jimmy + a gameplan that caters to Jimmy's strengths could result in Seattle pushing for a playoff spot. I honestly don't see them getting very far in the playoffs with Jimmy at QB, but I think Jimmy is capable enough as a QB to lead Seattle to 9 wins.

Week 2 obviously
The Seahawks schedule is basically the same as ours except harder. I say harder because they have 2 games against the Niners who are a better team than the Seahawks. With or without Jimmy, I don't see them winning more than 5 games.

With different coaching who knows. Need to limit hits on the QB. SEA famously wants to be run heavy.. that was the whole let Russ cook deal.. they never really did. If it's a lot of ground and pound and quick release to prevent hits to the QB he could go a while. He got in trouble with us when he ran (Chiefs) and held it too long (Titans) as well as other maladies.. Coaching him to get the ball out or slide would have given him a lot more games with us.
He'll probably be released on Monday or Tuesday of next week after all teams have played their final pre season games.

It's a testament to the strength of the rest of the roster that they were able to overcome Jimmy's limitations at QB, but no one is claiming that Jimmy didn't contribute to the success of the team in some ways. When healthy, most would agree he's a top 20 QB.

Most people would agree that the Lance deal would not have been made if JG would have remained healthy 90% of the time.

I don't think that's accurate. I think the biggest catalyst to the 49ers doing the trade was this:

Josh Allen Went OFF for 375 Passing Yds & 4 TDs | NFL 2020 Highlights

Strange thing to ponder. Let's take a peek in that rabbit hole. If he was healthy 90% of the time, that means he didn't miss the whole season from his ACL tear. That in turn likely means that we wouldn't have drafted high enough to get Nick Bosa. Without Bosa on the team, it's much less likely that we make it to the Super Bowl in '19, or NFCCG IN '21, and no way does Jimmy have the winning % he does.

But SEA has kind of proven that they can't do that, Jimmy is going to be hurt more often, my opinion.
There was an article prior to the start of last year stating this...(sorry I can't post links)

"In nine seasons, he's been sacked 394 times, an average of 43.8 sacks per season—more than any other QB since the 1970 merger."

I disagree in terms of SEA has proven they can't. I mean.. Russ was trying to run away from every defender and keep plays alive with his evasiveness.. which led to great plays but also sacks.. JG or a pocket passer won't be doing any of that stuff..

NFL has been gift wrapping them with cupcake schedules for years, it's about damn time

regardless, I have ZERO desire in helping a hated rival get "better"
