It's not even a question of whether Jimmy is better at this point than Trey. He's far more experienced and knows the system. Trey is still a work in progress.

However it's time to move on. Keeping Jimmy around as a backup isn't a real option. Trey will never smooth out his flaws without actually playing. He needs to know it's his team and he won't be pulled if he throws an INT. There was no way they could delay it another year. That would have made it 3+ years since Trey had any appreciable playing time. Delaying his development any more could have been a disaster.

Not sure about that. I'd rather ride or die with Lance, than be stuck with a limited QB like Jimmy.

i am sure your comment will be ringing the dinner bell for those who claim.. keeping jimmy did not keep us from obtaining talent it stuns me the way they undervalued this key aspect of the team with a young quarterback at the helm.. what good is it to have a nice young qb when you have a garbage o line

Laken is an overpaid middle of the pack interior OL in his 30s on a $10m+ annual deal I will personally write a thank you card to JG for dodging us that bullet of a contract, it's even more money he is saving us.
