Jimmy is the backup unless Trey gets hurt. Period. Jimmy has sucked in the playoffs and was never the reason we won any of our playoff games. He can go EAD on the bench until forced in by injury. Some of you never tasted the feeling of winning a SB so are content with making the playoffs and getting close. **** that. Really hope the opportunity to trade him for something good comes along here soon so I never have to think about him again.

Jimmy was instrumental in helping beat DAL in the playoffs last season. ignoring that is typical of Jimmy haters.

Jimmy was instrumental in us getting a lead against Dallas, and was instrumental in allowing Dallas to hang around and almost come all the way back.

lol f**k "almosts"

OK, take away the almost.

Jimmy was instrumental in us getting a lead against Dallas, and was instrumental in allowing Dallas to hang around.

Better?

the Niners won. the final scoreboard is the only thing that matters. Jimmy was instrumental in that win. that is the point of my reply and it proves Ezekiel's comment is incorrect.

not sure why you constantly try to put down Jimmy in any positive posts made about him. you are a Jimmy hater thru and thru.

Agree to disagree that Jimmy was instrumental in the win. He played pretty good in one half. The scoreboard is the only thing that matters when discussing the team. The scoreboard is not the only thing that matters when discussing individual player's performance.
Don't want him at 30 millions as my starter but at 15-20 that extra money could have been spent paying FAs to mask his weaknesses.

Too bad we already sold the house for lance. Hopefully he starts putting up numbers or the eggs really going to be all over Kyle's face.

You can't make football judgments by looking at the scoreboard. If you could, we should have signed Joe Flacco and started him the last two seasons.

Context matters. No matter how much fans want to say it doesn't.

Jimmy was 16/25 for 172 yards, 0 TDs and 1 pick. Instrumental is a serious reach.

We just lost to a Bears team lead by Justin Fields by 2 scores. You're tripping if you think any game is a given.

No game is a given, but this is going to be pretty close to a guaranteed victory.

What difference does $10 Million make? or $20 Million for that matter. Not winning a SB with Jimmy G as your starting QB. You only ever go back to Jimmy if you can guarantee the Niners will win the SB. Can you do that? With confidence can you say Jimmy can compete with Brady, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, or Justin Herbert?
Imagine where this team would be right now if Shanny got his wish and signed Cousins. No Bosa for sure though.

lol "context". Jimmy performed when he needed to. looking at final stat line doesn't show context. a QB could be "0 for...." for three qtrs but put it together for one drive that takes the lead in a game. that QB would now be instrumental in the win.

Ezekiel claimed Jimmy has never done anything to win a playoff game. that claim is untrue and you can look at the DAL game last postseason as proof.

lol you can count on waterbear and SWH to jump on any post that attempts to put Jimmy in a positive light. it's hilariously try-hardish and super predictable.

Yeah it's more like 15-20 mill versus the top guys making 45-50 now. So it's more like 30 million.

He was getting paid like a top 5 guy sucking up too much of the cap before at 30 mill a few years before.

You have Jimmy and 30 million extra and 3 more first round picks he might be able to win a sb. You don't think if Jimmy had Derrick Henry, or Elliot at his running back instead of the scraps we have and had another all pro lineman in front of him it wouldn't make a difference?

I expect shanny to start the best guy on the team who gives us the best chance to win. So far unimpressed.

I see no clear winner between lance, or Jimmy, or hell even Brock purdy at this point.

We've seen Jimmy's ceiling. Once we see lance a few more games we will know whether he has it or not. So far he hasn't shown he does.

Jimmy G be like.

There are plenty of things that posters could post that paint jimmy in a positive light that I would agree with or not comment on. But painting anything he has done in the postseason for us as positive isnt one of those things.

Do you think Jimmy is low-key rooting for Lance to fall flat on his face? I wouldn't blame him.

He wont be here when it pans out anyway so I doubt it.

Not entirely fall flat on his face, but Jimmy's endgame is wanting to be a starter again and a new contract. Weather that's here or else where is to be determined and he being able to play again will show other teams that he's healthy and can play.

I didn't ask my question correctly. This has nothing to do with Jimmy being a starter again, here or anywhere. It has to do with watching Lance fail hard so Jimmy can have the satisfaction of laughing (internally) at what the 49ers did.
