I don't think there was that much of an advantage. Most of that defense has seen Garoppolo, he's not an unknown to them and him coming in took any threat of the QB run game right off the board.

I don't think its comparable to having a QB come in that you've never seen before and now you have no idea what to expect or even how to defend them.

Everyone loves Jimmy.

Always been a class act. Nice to see fans showing him love.

Honestly the fans know we are better with him this year. They are excited.

absolutely, going to be an exciting season now

Yeah I agree. I threw in the towel with Lance. I don't think we even would have made the playoffs.

with TL we wouldnt have had a winning record

I agree.

Looks good like when he first got here.

Once shanny forces the full playbook down his throat again and starts "tailoring" plays to him I expect him to get worse each week.

Playing off instinct with limited playbook knowledge he looks good. Shanny is anti-qb whisperer.

I mean… Seattle not game-planing for him at all probably helped, too. It goes both ways.

Defense not game planning for an < QB not getting any reps at all and playbook for a few weeks.

Jimmy Gesus reveenge tour 2022
leads us to a Super Bowl win
earns game MVP goes to Disneyland
tells Shanny to eff off and gets a huge FA contract with the seacawks
Sad that Trey went down. Pretty damn happy we ended up keeping Jimmy.

I'm okay with that. He plays this whole season. We get at least a 3rd round pick and saved a bunch of money… and still have a shot at a ring.

God this year is going to be insufferable. We're going to hear baseless claim after baseless claim without fear of that player being able to prove those posters wrong. It's extremely cowardly.

I'm confident in Jimmy. I think he can lead us to a winning record and potentially win in the playoffs. But I wouldn't be happy to have the "I told you so" mindset if he himself got injured. Never once have I mocked Jimmy for being hurt or made definite statements about him that he can not defend himself against.

It's the same as when people claimed there would be a wasted season if we started Trey before Trey played a a down.

Ive always felt that saying "Idk" was a sign of intelligence. Being comfortable admitting you don't know how something will play out when there's not enough evidence is smart. So the fact that all these posters are claiming they know how Trey would have played, really does say something about the cognitive landscape of the webzone.

Yup.

I wonder if JG took one look at the gameplan with TL and said yeah I'll stick around
Trey needs to heal up. Jimmy gets to prove that injuries held him back last year. We still have a real shot at a ring and we are almost guaranteed a 3rd for Jimmy now.

Not ideal, but a lot better than if we had released Jimmy like some were calling for.

sucks that Payton and King are now accidentally right.

Exactly. I'd love to win the SB with Jimmy and then let him try his luck elsewhere with another team. Why? Because Lance is 22 and if he's able to progress to his potential he could be a top QB for 15+ seasons still.

What happens now with the countdown?

178 days left with Jimmy? 7 days to next probable injury? I'm open to suggestions.
