I don't know why anyone was surprised at Jimmy's performance. It was kind of like a collection of the worst and the best of Jimmy. We've seen the sharp, accurate passes before. We've also seen the poor decisions that lead to INTs or fumbles. The safety was a new one but overall it was a montage of Jimmy G.
Every QB makes mistakes and misses an open receiver from time to time. The great ones make up for those mistakes with something spectacular. Wilson had a terrible game; far worse than Jimmy. But when the team needed it he came through with 2 great throws and a big scramble to set up the winning TD. Jimmy threw into triple coverage and stepped out of the end zone.
That's the difference between good and great.

Had we somehow won last night - he would have taken credit for it and his fanboys would have loved and quoted it repeatedly.
It's just the nature of the QB position. It's why everyone is in here talking JG and no one is even bumping the Jeff Wilson thread. Does he even have a thread? It wasn't a big ask to just get in FG range with a clutch kicker at Mile High Stadium with the carry that place has on the ball. Wilson with a terrible miscue. But QBs get the lion-share of the credit and blame. Always have.
Wilson made 1 mistake last night. Jimmy made over 10.
Lol c'mon Wilson made a lot of mistakes and missed a lot of throws too. Outside of the ho ahead drive he was terrible too.
JEFF Wilson. What is seriously wrong with you and your obsession with trying to get gotcha moments on people?
It was a mistake chill out. Lol wow. It wasn't a gotcha moment either. I have continuously said Jimmy was absolutely terrible. Relax.
Lol what about the insight/incite thing you keep going back to with my post from a couple days ago then?
I've never seen someone so excited about a typo on a sports forum b4.
There's nothing wrong with gotcha moments on a football board but c'mon,...@ least be good at them b4 trying all the time.

Tough to take some serious when they say s**t like this. I'm sure Waterbear and SWH will be quick to call them out for unreasonable takes like this.
Definitely wasn't a normal Jimmy game. But we have seen him make all of those bone headed mistakes before. Last night was a compilation of his greatest hits.

Third down number 3. Garoppolo looks right, doesn't see Deebo Samuel breaking open and throws incomplete to a well-covered Brandon Aiyuk. Kyle Shanahan was visibly upset on the sideline after this one. #49ers pic.twitter.com/ZfVioWyDwg

That first play is the one that really frustrated me. That's a touchdown he missed. No question about it.
Love it!
It's crazy and telling when Deebo looks visibly frustrated after a completed 31 yard catch

You guys are going to love this. Garoppolo told JLC his arm was sore and fatigued. I noticed it in the Seattle game at the end on the run. Lots of dead arm throws this game.
This isn't an excuse. It's for pure ironical comic relief.
Haha...actually, it's to warn you that this might actually get worse.
29 passes in a 3 hour game, 12 in the second half
time for jimmy to STFU
So you think coming off of surgery with no off season, he shouldn't have any natural fatigue issues?
Lol. That's not how fatigued works in sports. Oh Madden. What have you done to these generations.
Lol some don't understand that.
29 passes in 3 hours
you guys lol
It isn't the volume of passes. It's you not understanding the concept.
jimmy need a pitch count on walk through now ?
Arm fatigue in this case comes from post surgery from not having adequate time to build up fine muscles and flexibility with the rest of the body before repeatedly doing the act itself.
You didn't see the drop of velocity from game 1 to game 2 esp. as the game wore on?
he actually out played wilson... i wonder if the air in denver gave russell arm fatigue
That's cool if you didn't see any differently. I certainly did seeing it live. No biggie.

Of course that's not a normal Jimmy game. Thank you for being honest. I'm not arguing he's never made boneheaded plays. I've don't recall him taking a safety in his career. Do you? I've seen him fumble a snap. I've seen him throw INT into congested areas.

Name similar games like this. Should be easy since they are so "normal".
Still waiting for Waterbear and SWH to show how unbiased they are when it comes to criticism of niner QB. I'm sure they will jump in any second.

we have 6 years of film to show all of his throws... maybe he's had AF this entire time...

Jimmy doing his best to top Cousins awful Monday night performance in which he tried to throw 6 INTs lol
only difference that many attributed that ugly performance to Eagles stout defense.

we can go back as far as the last game. Good then horrible. If we don't get the turnonvers against seattle do we win, if we don't get bailed out on the DPIs do we win.. tough to say. but for sure we didn't get anything like that this game and we lose
