Not ironic at all. I am so tired of these types of posts, dj. The "every QB makes mistakes" type comments. The "all QBs miss receivers" type comments.
There are a handful of plays every game that can be made that will completely change the landscape of the game. More times than not, Jimmy doesnt hit these plays. Frustrating.
My comment was meant to be parenthetical, not specific to JG.
Yeah I know. But those comments were never afforded to Trey Lance. Those comments come up regularly after Jimmy underperforms. Thats the only time stuff like that is posted.
Because for the price the 49ers paid to get Trey Lance, to replace Jimmy G, under the context of "we need to get better", then the expectation is that the new guy IS actually better than what we have, and by a lot, and not doing things similar to the guy that they sacrificed the future to replace.
It's amazing to me that you still can't grasp that concept.
Jimmy has won games and taken this team to the Super Bowl while Trey Lance hasn't contributed anything meaningful to the franchise.
Funny because I'm assuming both of you were okay with giving Trey no reps last season. The opinion that he must be an upgrade with no game reps is absurd.
Who is of that opinion?
I just stated a fact in response to a post about how they are viewed differently.
Trey Lance hasn't been afforded many comments because he hasn't played. Started last year and then missed games due to injury and the same thing happened this year.
You didn't state any fact because he didnt take us to the Super Bowl. The status you have him in is all a figment of your imagination.
That is common phrasing for any qb whose team goes to the Super Bowl, no need to get triggered over it.
I am fine with making my point by saying he was the qb of the 49ers team who went to the SB.
Let's not get into a pissing match over unimportant semantics. Those are why these threads are s**t.
Throw out the "common phrase" trash and try telling the truth. He didn't lead anyone to any Super Bowl and everyone here knows that,...lol.
In the same regard, dont get triggered when someone calls you out for trying to sneak in accomplishments that weren't achieved. If you have to constantly do that, then what does that tell you about the player?
Stop searching so hard for made up lines to say that "sound good." Just deal with the truth,...he's a mediocre to above-average QB, depending on Kyle's game plan, an off-season loafer, and an aged vet that's never commanded the huddle or the respect of the team while here, but is cheered by our guys like a mascot when things are going good.
No thanks, none of that has anything to do with my point.
