Well Jimmy does deserve his share of the credit and Kyle's record with and without Jimmy tells us at least that. However, fans using the tagline "He just wins" tells us nothing about how much credit he actually deserves for those wins. When I started to dig into it a little bit last week, some fans were getting upset about it. You are correct. Some fans are like children with a one track mind and very little substance to back up their extreme biases.

Yeah but you're comparing Jimmy to CJ Beathard, Hoyer and Nick Mullens saying that. Jimmy is a $100M dollar QB he SHOULD be better than guys that are career backups at best.

my point is Kyle has won a ton of games with an avg starting QB. That's not easy to do. He's made Jimmy better than he is imo.

yeah people on the internet hate being proven wrong or people disagreeing with their opinions. No amount of film, data or common sense will change opinions. If anything it just makes them dig in deeper out of spite. We all do it…and it's pretty childish if you think about it lol.

I can't understand why so many people keep making the point about Kyle's record with and without Jimmy. I would expect to see similar results with any team in the league with and without their starting QB unless the team was just plain lousy.

No QB hits all his chances but in a one score loss, hitting 1/3 of those chances could make a difference in the game. The most frustrating ones are the wide open Deebo up the sideline (@0:18) where Jimmy is looking in that direction - I know he is capable of hitting that - and the Deebo miss on the circle/texas route out of the backfield. Very possible for Jimmy to make those two throws.

Jimmy had 3 guys in the middle, but he panicked when he saw the rushers.

This play is schemed up for Kittle, who got a bit held up at the line and was slow to get into his route. Jimmy is waiting for Kittle to get downfield on this play. Passing lane to Juice and Dwelley(?) is covered so I don't expect a throw to them here. The pass protection failed on this play and the best decision is to throw it away. It was a shot play that didn't materialize. Jimmy tried to make something out of nothing and that usually doesn't end well for the 49ers.

Same throw people get mad at Lance for not hitting perfectly. Yet our 8 yr vet can't hit it

Lance isn't hitting anyone right now.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with what I said

It'll be like that for until the 2023 season. It's a nice comeback since Lance can't play right now. Even if Jimmy has a 1.0 rating, "still better than Lance". ooohhh gotcha.

Its funny because none of it even really matters because he ran out of bounds, but I would at least have expected him to throw it to Woerner if he was just going to throw it up for grabs. He panicked when he saw the rushers. Broken play, but good QB ad lib something a little better than that, and they're aware of the back of the endzone.

Jimmy has always been limited by his inability to be aware of the field in front of him AND the pocket around him simultaneously. He can only focus on one thing, which is why he has to get the ball out immediately. Some guys have an innate sense of the space around them while they survey the field. Jimmy definitely doesn't.

All of this. Kyle said during yesterday's press call that the options were: 1) Kittle, and 2) throw it away.

Because as a playcaller you cannot completely handcuff the offense. As a QB, your job is to take what the defense gives you. If you force throws into the shallow routes that are tightly covered, you get what we got on SNF.

I agree but as we have seen Defenses just let our guys run free cause everyone knows he won't throw it. So it's just taking a guy out for us.

If we see a repeat performance in the rams game, I wouldn't mind seeing Purdy start the following week. This offense cannot continue to be one dimensional and expect to win many games.
