Lol there's no way that's what he said. You have to be kidding.

I was going to make it a subject (but didnt) but he basically called Shanahan out after our win last week. With the suggestion that Shanahan's been what's holding him back, I clearly sensed tension even after our win.

Not sure why we even run deep routes when everyone knows he can't throw them.

To his defense if you watch what this guy is highlighting - it's kinda bs lol the safety is staring at Jimmy and would have an easy time crossing over to the guy most of the time.

now that being said - if jimmy had anticipation he'd be fine. He has zero. Lol the guy has to be open before he throws it. Montana and young threw it to where they would be open etc. it's amazing how spoiled I was growing up.

Lance isn't hitting anyone right now.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with what I said

It'll be like that for until the 2023 season. It's a nice comeback since Lance can't play right now. Even if Jimmy has a 1.0 rating, "still better than Lance". ooohhh gotcha.

Yup. Let's remember these guys are teammates. JG shared with TL all he knows about durability.

I'm 43, been watching since the 88 Superbowl (literally, became a fan during that game and never looked back) and I know exactly how you feel.

To be fair, the first play on the video, Jimmy had the right guy targeted. The ball was deflected at the line.

Because as a playcaller you cannot completely handcuff the offense. As a QB, your job is to take what the defense gives you. If you force throws into the shallow routes that are tightly covered, you get what we got on SNF.

I agree but as we have seen Defenses just let our guys run free cause everyone knows he won't throw it. So it's just taking a guy out for us.

If we see a repeat performance in the rams game, I wouldn't mind seeing Purdy start the following week. This offense cannot continue to be one dimensional and expect to win many games.

We won't bench the bum till mathematically eliminated

Same super bowl for me! IMO its a reflection of coaching because the vast majority of QB's don't anticipate these days. The entire point of west coast was timing and anticipation, that seems lost in this evolution of it. I remember Walsh screaming footwork and the rest takes care of it self. Drop back 3 steps and throw it here... Rice will be there by the time the ball arrives etc etc. When I see Jimmy and Treys mechanics I want to puke half the time. Jimmy has terrible feet imo.

WB, it is what is is. TL was drafted to be the upgrade at the position. He was drafted to be more durable than JG. It ain't cowardly to point out the reality and question why on earth we took a QB power player and thought running him into NFL front sevens after spending three ones would be a wise thing to do.

With just a lil imagination and after watching MNF it's not a stretch to say Micah Parsons perhaps has us holding up the trophy last year, when we had a 10 pt lead in the 4th qtr. Imagine Parsons getting after Staffy with a 10 pt lead. All he needs is one play and it's CIN vs SF in the chip. We know how that matchup turns out.

Jimmy had 3 guys in the middle, but he panicked when he saw the rushers.

This play is schemed up for Kittle, who got a bit held up at the line and was slow to get into his route. Jimmy is waiting for Kittle to get downfield on this play. Passing lane to Juice and Dwelley(?) is covered so I don't expect a throw to them here. The pass protection failed on this play and the best decision is to throw it away. It was a shot play that didn't materialize. Jimmy tried to make something out of nothing and that usually doesn't end well for the 49ers.

All of this. Kyle said during yesterday's press call that the options were: 1) Kittle, and 2) throw it away.

Pretty much. I actually appreciate coach trying to take a shot when everyone thought it would be run run run punt. QB has got to throw it away if something doesn't materialize. Jimmy wants to be a gun slinger and extend plays…he simply doesn't have that tool in his tool belt.

He did? Imo that ball was going to Kittle not BA downfield.

Can we just get something straight in here please…the play he got hurt on was not QB power. It was a read option…It wasn't a designed play for him to just run. I wish people would at least get the play correct. I get being frustrated about running him up the A gap and holding our breath every time he gets hit. Toss that s**t in the trash. Read options should still be part of the game plan though.

The QB still f**ked up all the same last yr in the NFCC. Missed reads, INTs and inaccurate passes. Our pass rush was just fine. We needed to get another QB in here to groom (if we couldn't land a big fish via trade). Jimmy imo was never getting a massive extension regardless.
