rating will probably take another hit this week

He's been knocking the rust off since the SB he pissed away for us in 2019

He'll come out MNF and light it up like usual. This stuff isn't hard. Just get the ball to 19, 11, 85. If KS has some suck plays.. change it at the LOS.

If it were that simple how come it didn't happen in Denver? What exactly has been "usual" for Jimmy post 2019 anyway? The team wins, carrying him on their back, as usual

It's life you have good days and bad. He was rusty as hell. You spend the week working on getting it fixed and try to do it better the next game.

Sure ok so once Jimmy gets the "rust" off he will be back to not throwing boneheaded picks into triple coverage, and he will be back to throwing deep balls to his receivers in stride on the regular. Just like he always has! Oh wait...

Love Brent Jones. Nice to see a all time 49er great and in my opinion a HOF call out JG. More of this from our all time great players.
Yeah, I'm cool with players of their status speak up on current events. They shouldn't be dismissed, like many dit with Joe and Young when they spoke about Lance.

I would take Joe Montana's opinion more serious if he gave us his personal analsys of Trey Lance. Maybe I am missing something more recent but the last I heard from him was "players in the locker room" are talking.

"I don't think he's ready," Montana said of Lance. "And that's just what I hear. I heard even more things today from some of the players, so I just don't think they think he's ready."

That's right many alluded that joe was a liar and not having any connections anymore. I don't know if that's true or not and won't act like I know.

His opinion below was also attributed to sour grapes.

"I think you keep Jimmy until you find somebody else," Montana said. "I don't think Trey's ready to play yet, myself, and after talking to some of the players. It's one of those things that, if you can keep Jimmy healthy, he plays well enough to get you here."

I don't want a QB who "plays well enough to get you there". I want a QB that actually gives you a chance to win the SB. Jimmy will never be the reason this team,or any NFL team, wins a SB.

That's fine to disagree with Joes opinion. Many share that sentiment. I just don't agree when you call into question his character in doing so. That's all.

You'll see picks from time to time.. his career rating is pretty solid and it takes all those into account.

I think he will play well and we will win. There will probably be some plays you want back. That's gonna happen most every game. This is a tough league and hard to win every snap. Just get most of em and win the game that's all it is.

It's not rust. Its who he is

What really pisses me off though was all the propping up of him by some fans and the media at large to crap on Trey. And what happened in Denver made his obvious faults so much more glaringly obvious so to make it crystal clear to those who are trying to spin a narrative.

What are the 2 big things I hear the most about from downers of Trey? Footwork/mechanics and accuracy. What were 2 things that were terrible with Jimmy in Denver (and not good since he joined the team 6 years ago)? Footwork/mechanics and accuracy (plus much more!)

Yeah, decision making has and always will be Jimmy's biggest flaw. From not throwing to guys that had walk in TDs, to throwing into double coverage, to just what in the blue f**k he was thinking on the safety. DECISION MAKING. Mechanics can be improved by practicing. Accuracy can be improved by improving mechanics. What fixes decision making? We could get away with an inaccurate QB who makes good decisions a lot easier than an accurate QB who makes Jimmy decisions.

well the bold part is more of a lack of recognition to me

To be fair, Jimmy does have his moments, it's just marred with way too many mistakes.

I agree. To think Trey or any rookie QB was going to take us to and win a SB was unrealistic. As a person JG is probably a great guy, but as a NFL QB for the 49ers I am so done with him and his F ups that can come on any given play, he's a veteran QB who never seems to learn from his mistakes.

Trey may end up being worse than JG but many people will not even give the guy 6 games before they declare him a bust and want Jimmy G.

Well we saw what Walk on Water Jimmy did on Monday night, and although that was his worst performance ever, you can go back to most every game he's been a 49er and see many aspects of his routine screw ups on a weekly basis.

However, the rest of the team has been good enough to cover his mistakes but many refuse to see he's average at best, and has many below average plays and decisions during all games, because the team won and winning makes us all happy.

Trey was probably going to have just as many,if not more, boneheaded plays this year and now next year being a rookie; however, he's a rookie and needs time to learn the game on the NFL level and JG is a "vet QB" who should not make these same mistakes, plus a new all time one that he can share with Orlovsky, every week.

I see the same rinse and repeat with JG this year as always and that's not winning a SB and plenty of wth moments.

Yea jonny gets an entire thread about it on a weekly basis.
https://www.49erswebzone.com/forum/niners/196250-week-denver-broncos-coaches-film-analysis-thread/

Give a link to it or try to not redirect posters away from it so he can garner more hits.

whoa whoa whoa, stop freaking out bro. this isn't a dictatorship.

Jonny posts his new thread on the latest game every week. Why undercut him like that?

Let his thread get some attention to it,...there's no need to steal his link and repost it like it's news without a link to the thread he runs.

you think he gives a s**t about a 49ers webzone thread getting hits over his youtube brand which he now has a sponsor for?

Lol

If he can get to a SB, he can win a SB. Simple as that. Everyone saying otherwise is biased and unable to reason.

He's not a top 10 QB. Neither was Flacco, Foles, Dilfer, and arguably Eli.

Forget your stupid-ass narrative. He is who is.
He's what we got. We've won with him before, we need to win with him now.

Still dont get the need to undercut the guy like it's news. He breaks his own news,....no need for a competition over his own content.

He gives us a new thread every week on the last game. Link us to the thread. Let it garner more hits and attention.

so its a competition with himself? a thread link vs. the actual youtube link?

if you care so much about his thread, that sits on top of the page, close to those one, every week, then link it yourself while Mr. Jonny police

You're much better with the gossip columns and lip reading stuff IMO.

What's the latest with that kinda info? Any new stuff from Cohn?
