Example... "Kaepernick" (Phoenix's trigger word 😐)..is discussed... I keep it football related, while another takes it another direction. I get banned, other person doesn't. And they celebrate.

f**k that s**t.

You have to be very careful on this site while discussing Kap if your're not on the "Kap was complete trash" side

Pretty typical for the zone. Just gatta post and not care if feels get hurt.

Yeah I feel you but I'd categorize it less than a "bad habit" and more of a "that's how he throws most passes". The only time he actually drives the ball is the very, very rare time he goes deep.

right, and the time he had a deep open shot to Deebo he still threw it like a "fadeaway" jump shot. (thl's analogy). that's where he NEEDED that drive off his back foot, but instead it just kind of floated to Deebo and didn't lead him down the field at all.

"I've never seen that from any quarterback ever, that has ever been any good.

One thing I always preach here is consistency. The posters who were willing to give Montana a voice when he commented Trey wasn't ready won't be here to address this nugget. Same when Jimmy's ex teammates said he was, I actually don't recall, but it was something negative by two different players. Now all players current, former, ex, have their reasons for saying something, so I am not going to use what Brent said as some sort of gotcha. I don't know how much time he spends with Jimmy or the team nowadays (I'm guessing little to none). But, the look, as someone said above, isn't good. Maybe that's just who JG is, though. Maybe when he gets in the locker room, he lets it all out, pissed as ever. I don't know. But the video, with JG smiling, and Ward looking hella pissed, is not a good look.

Here's to hoping JG bounces back this week. He's not going to bounce back and have one of those asinine games Faithful predicts (he's taking receipts? Of all the posters who can be checked by dumb s**t they've predicted / said on this site it's that guy...), but hopefully JG does enough to help the team get a W.

Are you aware that Kyle admitted that not only that call, but "several" before it were bad calls that he should not have made?

If they were bad, it was because this team doesn't have the personnel to deal with things going off-script.

Patrick Mahomes was shown on the sideline in a full-blown verbal war with OC Eric Bienimi over conservative play-calling. It became so heated Andy Reid had to drag them into the locker room and out of the public eye.

Conservative play calls have not been a criticism of Reid in the past but this season seems different. KC media is picking up on it and asking questions.

https://arrowheadaddict.com/2022/09/28/kc-chiefs-unleash-patrick-mahomes-aggressive/?utm_campaign=FanSided Daily&utm_source=FanSided Daily&utm_medium=email

I know you're not saying that Jimmy and Patrick are the same. But I think it really matters you put them in context with their ability to play. Jimmy missed a lot of throws last week that Mahomes simply would have made.

Kyle's had his issues playcalling this year no doubt about it. That doesn't mean he's even close to the main reason for Jimmy's struggles.

My point was, play-callers go through downturns the same as players. It happens to the best of them. Kyle is clearly on a downturn this season. Many have speculated the loss of McDaniel is to blame, however, that does not excuse some of the truly bad calls and sequencing of plays that have plagued the offense this season. After all, Kyle was supposed to be the guru, not McDaniel.
play calling can not do anything for the offense if the offense can't execute. Don't execute and don't get momentum.. which gives us games like last two sundays

That was not my point at all. Even the best offenses struggle...and lose when the play-calling limits the potential.
its very rare when a play call is executed perfectly and still fail i smy point. You are trying make it play calling when PC wasn't the issue. not executing is the issue

My point was that play-calling is PART of the issue. Poor execution is another part. The fact that the playbook has some new wrinkles in it that the QB is not familiar with is another. Four new players in the OL from last season is yet another part.

As David Lombardi noted in The Athletic this morning:
"Both Garoppolo and Shanahan made numerous negative contributions to the loss at Denver.

Garoppolo missed several open receivers before forcing a pass to heavily covered receiver Deebo Samuel that turned into an interception. Shanahan acknowledged making bad play calls before that pick and the safety, on which Garoppolo stepped out of the back of the end zone. Shanahan had called for play-action on a long dropback, a highly unusual decision given that the 49ers were pinned at their own 1-yard line."

Lombardi's conclusion was: Ensure QB-play caller cohesion

In KC, you cannot blame poor execution on the QB but the issue of questionable play-calling has become a thing in the past two games. In this last game, they punted 3 of the first four possessions. Only gained 49 yards rushing against a banged-up Indy D. Mahomes threw for 262 but his complaint was that Bienimi took the ball out of his hands on several occasions. Reid's presser sought to cool things down but clearly, things have not been well in KC the past two games.

Don't bother with All. He can literally, only ???? one thing on the 49ers. One.

It's only a bad call if your QB can't execute the play. This wouldn't be a bad call with Aaron Rodgers. But it is with Jimmy G. In fact it's a terrible call with him, because he is prone to make astounding mistakes from time to time, especially when under pressure.

I'm sorry, I'm meant, "Golden." LOL

You guys are aware there is more to life than Jimmy Garoppolo, right?
Brent Jones:

"I am laying the blame, I don't do this very often, in fact I don't do it hardly at all. Jimmy Garoppolo was horrible. What the heck? When you're a professional football player and quarterback, you know where the back of the end zone is. That was so outrageous. You know how many times I've seen that from a veteran quarterback. 0.0 from a veteran quarterback, it's just the worst.

"While I was yelling ' what are you thinking?' He's throwing a pick-six so I'm rooting for safety. You know since we got Jimmy, I've been pretty supportive of Jimmy, and I've tried to say so along the way. And he's not perfect, he does one or two goofy things every game and we talked about this, even when Trey was the starter. I said 'just remember, the world isn't totally rosy with Jimmy in there.'

"That fumble he was pulling away from the center too early, the pick into double maybe triple coverage was just nasty, but I gotta say, and I don't think I've ever said this before, after you played horrible and you're the reason your team lost the game, you do not smile and go glad handing the other team after the game. I've never seen that from any quarterback ever, that has ever been any good.

"Steve Young? No way. Joe Montana? Hell no. Brett Favre? No chance in heck. You think Russell Wilson is laughing after he throws a pick, steps out of the end zone for a safety and fumbles a ball and plays horrible and his team's 1-2 and the reason they lost the game. It almost looked like he didn't even care. It was so frustrating, and maybe I was just mad because the game was so ugly. If that's me, I'm running for the locker room. I am not smiling, I am not talking to anybody for a week if you play like that.

I just don't get his disposition, but that was really frustrating. Icing on the cake.

"I want to see Jimmy grabbing a couple receivers and talking to them, I want to see him patting his linemen on the shoulder and saying 'I need some time'…I want him talking to a coach. I always just see him sitting there posing and nobody is taking GQ pics on the sideline. I want to see some emotion, I want to see some quarterbacking, but they always just show him sitting there looking stoic, posing. I wanna see some messed up hair, how about that?

"I want my quarterback all in. I'm not saying he's not, but it sure comes across like 'ya, know, oh well, too bad, I had to take a pay cut this year. It's not on me, I'm just here having fun. High five. Yeah we got smoked.'

Do you know we've played three crappy teams? These teams are pretty crappy. They'll all finish under .500 and we're 1-2, and we're out laughing after the game. C'mon. How come I'm more mad than Jimmy?"

https://www.thesfniners.com/49ers-legend-brent-jones-rips-into-jimmy-garoppolo-following-disastrous-performance

So you're saying there isn't anything else in life but Jimmy Garoppolo.

Why let a lame duck 2.0 QB rule your world like this? I haven't seen such an obsession over one player since NY85 and Mac Jones pre draft!

It's not like this team was going to win the Superbowl. Even with Trey. You thought we'd be 10-7.

Because all the celebration of Trey's injury last week. And it was there. Deny it, but we saw it.

Garoppolo gave them enough material for their circle jerk. Let them get it in.

But for our teams sake let's hope here isn't many more of these.

The only thing we can hope for is that he freaking sets his feet so he is more accurate. Because he is never, and I mean NEVER, going to get good at reading a defense post-snap. The way he does it is too ingrained. The habit is too strong.

Yeah, I'm cool with players of their status speak up on current events. They shouldn't be dismissed, like many dit with Joe and Young when they spoke about Lance.

Yeah the difference is that Brent Jones SAW Jimmy play, while Joe Montana didn't SEE Trey Lance practice.

Every freaking time you guys leave out EXTREMELY RELEVANT DETAILS in order to bolster your arguments. This is why this thread will hit 9000 pages.

Give a link to it or try to not redirect posters away from it so he can garner more hits.

whoa whoa whoa, stop freaking out bro. this isn't a dictatorship.

Jonny posts his new thread on the latest game every week. Why undercut him like that?

Let his thread get some attention to it,...there's no need to steal his link and repost it like it's news without a link to the thread he runs.

Lol I love this site. The things we argue about.

While posting it in this thread will indeed take away some of his street cred on his thread, it WON'T take away money he'll earn from it. In fact, it will probably INCREASE the money he gets (assuming he has monetized his account, and he definitely should given the following he has here).

However, there's a simple solution to this conundrum, I'm thinking: sure, post the video here, but ALSO post a link to his newest post in his thread, and encourage discussion there.

Remember the butt fumble by Mark Sanchez?

Jimmy G is basically in the same class of QB as Mark Sanchez (choked 2x in AFCC).. no pro bowl, choked in Big Games, subpar limited QB carried by a strong D team in the Jets..

Mark Sanchez was never the same and never a starting QB again after the butt fumble... it appears Jimmy G is heading closer and closer towards the same fate.

The only chance they got this season is to run the ball as much as possible and hope the championship D keeps them in games or get turnovers or score on turnovers or shut down the opponent's offense, SAME AS LAST SEASON with Jimmy G..

JUST RUN THE BALL.

Jimmy won't reach that fate because nothing is going to weigh on his mind, because he just doesn't care. A very healthy way to live, sure. But obviously not appreciated by the likes of Brent Jones. Or the girl who posted "karma" after he left her and he hurt his knee.
