It looked like Jimmy just threw the ball out of bounds intentionally while missing a completely wide open dude in the same direction of the pass

Why are you bringing up a negative play? Make sure you only talk about positive plays. We gotta protect people's safe space, it's 2022.

You call 10 pts a big lead? Also, blaming Shanahan for losing a SB as an OC who's unit put up 28 points is nonsense.

It really could be that Shamahan changed his offensive strategy and is working with what he has instead of the whole round peg square hole thing. It looked like he came out with more of a pass heavy plan to get Jimmy into a rythym. Credit where it is due, he is just inconsistent with his play calling.

Shamahan can certainly be blamed for the Superbowl loss with the Falcons because he abandoned the run, even though they had a dominant run game and he scored zero points in the 4th quarter, when the team needed the points the most.

The same can be said in the Superbowl with the 49ers. He couldn't scheme up 7 points in the 4th quarter that would have most likely given the 49ers the Superbowl win, instead of the L.

But Indigress, this is the Jimmy thread. He did not get in his own way Monday night and didn't turn the ball over. I'm not gonna complain about missed passes, he isn't a probowler and is doing his best.

Long as the coach calls a decent game plan and Jimmy doesn't turn the ball over this team has the weapons to win on the playoffs if the defense keeps this elite level of play

Did you call him Shamahan by accident twice?

Once could be considered an accident, twice means there was some intent there. He coaches very inconsistently IMO. Let's not get off topic, this is the Jimmy thread 🤣🤣

Critical of a designed throw away on 4th down, 70 yds to go and with 2 seconds left in the half...

It was a designed throw away on 4th down to kill the last 2 seconds of the half.

I think he's talking about the 3rd down play. Maybe I'm wrong
Lol

No, it was the 4th down play, they had 3 safeties over the top and it looked like Jennings was open but once the Rams saw Jimmy aim it out of bounds they just ran off the field. Everyone knew what we were doing.

For some reason I thought that play where Jennings looked open was on 3rd down and the 4th down play was the deep shot to the left sidelines. My bad.

Thanks for the breakdown. Didn't think it was needed but here we are.

Only in the Jimmy thread lol
I tend to think that at least one of the following are kicking themselves for not trading for Jimmy, even at his $26 million salary:

panthers, commanders, falcons, colts, or giants.

The obvious argument is that those teams are bridging to their QBotF… but there aren't that many prospects, and more than half of those teams are gonna have s**tty QB play next year and beyond. I can't speak intelligently about each team, but other than the Giants they were all projected to be much better than they are, and their QBs are playing less than stellar.

we made the correct decision by keeping Jimmy, and we are fortunate he was willing to take the deal.

For sure we benefit and those teams made a mistake. They signed worse players. Mostly because they were afraid of the shoulder surgery and high salary.
