And I'm not speaking along the entertainment avenue, but rather, the "too many explosive options" avenue.

Even given all of this talent... what I've grown tired of is our obvious efforts to run down as much clock as possible possession after possession.

I'm actually in favor of this come 2nd halves with a comfortable lead. Problem is, we're doing this early in games before we even get a lead!

I'd be interested in seeing the 1st half statistics of how many times we snapped the ball with 2+ seconds on the clock and it wasn't a sneak?

I mean I get it: Ball Control Offense.

But 4 runs to start the game and bleeding the clock away as much as possible with these capable pass catchers?

No no no. I don't know if it's his (Kyle's) nature by default or if he just really, really wants to get the season with JimmyG over as fast as possible, but I don't see this style of play being conducive to a title run.
Our explosives can happen in the running game. We have two home run hitters back there.

Good job Jimmy!

And this ignores the great designs Kyle called which got huge gains. It also ignores the strong possibility on a lot of those first and second downs that EXECUTION was the problem.

Yes,...they can. But this is a passing league.

Part of his job for being paid millions that he almost loss and HAD TO take a pay cut to stay as the backup? Or he can play like pure s**t bonehead 45-55 (instead of 68 Sunday night or 72 at best) and not get anymore incentives and be bench for Mr. irrelevant and on top of that won't bode well for his future in the NFL after this season?

Stop being:

If that happens even the cheerleaders won't be fist bumping Jimmy anymore 🤣

I dont think fans understand just how fantastic of a WR this guy is. No one really brings it up because he made the play!
All the focus is on the miss but these grabs are only routine while home, with a remote in your hand, and on the sofa.

I mean,...how?
How he grabs that and doesn't instantly fall down but somehow continues on to the 2 yard line is beyond my grasp.

And the things the CMac can do is beyond my grasp. And Kittle. And Deebo. Just, a number of guys that can take nothing and make it into something.

But I mean hey, based on the last several pages, this play is obviously going under the "beat the blitz", "great 3rd down throw" category and they will just continue on. Much we read here is a bunch of fans seeing what they want.

Criticize what Jimmy G does bad like what he did here.

Also giving him credit when it's due.

Clips and explanations like yours are really good.

Was that the HB dive left or right on first downs?

How about jimmy and the O did a great job of executing the plays on crucial downs that Kyle put in place? We can give both of them credit?

jimmy benefits from kyles system and play calling while Kyle benefits from Jimmys execution, accuracy, and composure.

Yup. Even if this was one of Kyle's most vanilla game plans ever.

The good news is if we play a 3rd string team in the playoffs, we know we can still have a come-from-behind win in the 4Q with a run-centric game plan playing behind the sticks.

Yup.

Agreed. But not last Sunday. What, "great designs?"

You can picture each and every one of them with those Erin Andrews-eyes.

Jimmy played lights out yesterday. On that play, the webzone was all thinking, oh no. Lol

Lights out? His play was wholly disappointing given the game last week. We don't survive games like these without the defense allowing things like 50 2nd half yards.

The play level of the offense was a step backwards.

Disagree. A win is a win. Was Jimmy perfect? Nope. Was he good enough? Yep. Are the 49ers 5-4? Yes they are. That's all that matters.

Rarely does any QB play a perfect game. If you think Jimmy is a flop because his passes sometimes sail, or he misses a wide open receiver, there's nothing I can say to convince you otherwise. You're convinced that Jimmy is a flop. You're convinced that any QB that doesn't hit 100-percent of his passes is a flop. You have set a very high bar for QB play.

Now, to address your concerns, can Jimmy play better? Yes, he can. Will he improve? Can he improve? I certainly hope so. I hope the entire offense can improve. I hope that Elijah and CMC can run for ten yards rather than eight. I hope that Aiyuk doesn't fumble after the catch. Same with Kittle. Same with all other receivers.

Jimmy Garropolo has the potential to take this team to, and win, the Super Bowl. Will he? I sure hope so. But then you have another problem.

what's the other problem?

Do you give Jimmy a new contract or let a Super Bowl winning QB walk in free agency.

Gotcha. good problem to have.

No answer?

Wonder what Lombardi would opine.

he answered my question.
