So Lynch thought he was pretty darn good during that stretch in 2017, but doesn't mention his play from the last 4 seasons. Hmm.
Lynch almost left him in Tenn last year

I'd bet money you've never watched him play.
I will piggy back on that.. Rush had jerry contemplating on sitting Dak

Ultimately, Jimmy will get much more guaranteed money elsewhere. The question will be, if we do make an offer, I think it'll depend on whether we offer him enough to want to stay. Just my opinion.

That's fair….Imo I don't see it as any different then last yr…young (cheap) QB waiting in the wings who they spent a ton for. Jimmy had a stretch last yr where he played well and then got hurt. SF has better PP and added CMC, which will help any QB.

I just can't see them committing legit money to him with how they structured the cap and future deals. I don't think their long-term vision at quarterback has changed at all.

If Jimmy plays like this the rest of the year there's gonna be a bidding war.

Jimmy has plenty of money. If things work out in the best possible way (Super Bowl win), he'll take less money to stay here. Book it.

Spotrac has estimated Garoppolo's market value at $34M/yr with the new cap. That would set him at the #12-14 slot among QBs. If that happened, it would pay him roughly the same value as compared to the cap as his prior contract. As you say, "Book it."

Yeah I don't know why people think Jimmy would take $10M a year to be the backup to Trey after playing the way he's been playing this season lol.

He wouldn't. He wouldn't take only 34m/year either. His haters want to see him hurt financially by resigning to a team friendly deal, but there is no reason he shouldn't get paid at least as much as someone like Kyler Murray, who he has outplayed.

Garoppolo has already demonstrated he is more interested in being here, on a good team than trying to match some very bad contracts that should never have been offered in the first place.

In the past, Spotrac has been very good at predicting market value and where a particular player might land.

I love Rich Eisen, but any football opinion that removes all analysis of a players film is not a good opinion.

Otherwise, we should pay big bucks for Joe Flacco or Nick Foles next season to be our backup.

What's so hard about this? And why are people rushing to conclusions on extensions like it's the end of February or something?

Anyone want to outline when Jed overrules his GM and HC on roster decisions? I've never known that to be the case ala the Cowboys.

Idk, 34 mil can certainly boost this team even more in FA
I like Jimmy hes a good dude and pretty good QB. But he needs to show me a lot more in order for me to anoint him. It's a SB trophy or bust in order for me to be sold on him. With these weapons, good OL and great playcaller and defense theres no excuse really for him not to win a SB. I'll gladly eat crow and change my username to PrezOfJimmyGFanClub if he wins us a SB this year.

I thought the KC game was poor it was mostly good but the bad outweighed the good making it not a good game. Go back and look at that INT from holding the ball not getting it out into the blitz. Also holding the ball, getting strip sacked. Finally, he got safetied from holding the ball in his own endzone which was clownish. The problems as usual stem from not getting it out quick, which I am noticing improvement recently. CMC effect helping as it is drawing the D away, opening up some space out there.

The 1st half vs. SD wasn't good either. Picked it up come the 2nd half.

I would rather invest that money in a high-quality QB than overpay for a UFA as is usually the case in FA.

5 starts isin't alot of data (in terms of rankings).

Early rankings aren't gospel or anything and if you understand basic things regarding stats, then you readily accept this.

As someone's been saying over and over again,...allow the data to compile without rushing to conclusions.

Yeah okay. He's going to sit his $40M/year franchise QB for Cooper Rush. Y'all say Jimmy gets carried but want to give credit to Rush. Pathetic.
