The scary thing is these are not new plays. They are the same ones where for whatever reason they just dropped or the timing was off or some crap like that.

that whip route by aiyuk was run a few weeks ago and he dropped it. It shows how scary this team can be when they execute. Keep rolling boys keep rollin

He absolutely saw it, he just didn't risk it. Maybe he knows his limitations and played it safe? He looks right at Aiyuk though.

But overall Jimmy has done at least a decent job at trying to use the whole field this year. He's looking more and more like 2017, and that's good enough. He doesn't need to be Mahomes out there, just enough to keep defenses having to play the whole field at times.

I had this same thought too when I realized all our passing offense was screens, slants, ins, and crossers… I worried the passing game was one-dimensional.

And yet… Here we are, 5 years in with Jimmy and we're STILL having success with the passing game the way it is. I've come to realize it that Shanahan mixes it up well enough that defenses don't key in as much as we think…. and the scheme is a little more complex than we think.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just want to say I'm thankful for the posters who criticize Jimmy for not taking a deep shot at a critical part of the game after the Cardinals just scored a td, when the niners desparately needed to keep the drive going, with 3 minutes left in the half, after the defense got torched, rather than going for the 1st down on a high percentage play, simply for the need of an explosive play element. It really keeps my entertained. Thanks guys!!
