This.

T.O. broke his leg and tore a ligament in his right ankle. He lived in a hyperbaric chamber. 7 weeks later that man had 9 catches for 122 yards. I remember that game.

Jimmy broke his left foot, not his plant leg. This is why I think he can make the comeback in 6 weeks. Hope he lives in that thing.

He certainly has a habit of not even using his left leg when throwing, which is part of why his deep accuracy is spotty. But at the same time, maybe that means he doesn't really need it that much.

6:00-7:00 of video, the play before the injury, as Jack Hammer said, Jimmy should have went to a wide open AB for the TD and the drive would have been over 7-7, instead he threw to Kittle late and pass easily broken up, next play he takes 2 guys on him and try to gain some yards for whatever reason, pretty much boneheaded, and sustain the broken foot.

Everything happens for a reason, now it's Purdy time, Jimmy failed himself and can't really blame anyone else, I'm sure his season is over, 7-8 weeks? Damage contorl..

You can argue that it's Jimmy's fault we didn't score a touchdown there, but IMHO it's taking "20/20 is hindsight" to a new level to say by not seeing that pass that is why he was injured.

I didn't say it, Jack Hammer did and I think Joe Staley as well and I'm sure KS saw the same thing.

Now so far Purdy looked better than Jimmy vs MIA. If Purdy keeps it up I would stick with Purdy all the way as would KS I'm sure even IF Jimmy is at all healthy in 7-8 weeks which would be the NFCC if the team even makes it that far, I doubt Jimmy will even be healthy at all but that's for him to prove he can be healthy to practice and play and KS to decide if he's a better option than Purdy if that even happens which I highly doubt because the news today was damage contorl for him, his camp and his NFL future and earnings more than anything as stated by Haberman which I 110% agree with.

I don't know if I fully agree with that either. Jimmy was doing pretty good. Hit McCaffrey deep.

That said, if Big Clock Brock plays as he did Sunday for the remainder of the season, I probably keep him in.

He played better than Jimmy consider it was vs a 8-3 MIA, 33-17 is impressive for a rookie who just step in due to an injury early in the game and MIA was coming after him relentlessly, KS even call it a "cool game" in the presser.

The only impressive game Jimmy had in his campaign this season going 7-3 was the AZ game in Mexico with 4 tds and no int but that was against a injured and bad 4-7 AZ team not playing their best and without Kyler Murray.

Jimmy going 7-3 this season I never really heard KS praise Jimmy for anything in particular other than a few good passes he thrown in some of the wins out of the 7.

How is it hindsight when the film each week shows him missing the reads and locking onto one player, how come there's film of bad presnap reads like the one he got hurt on.

The mistakes keep happening. I'm no profit but I called Purdy playing soon after what I saw last week. It is what it is

Because if you ran that sequence of plays 1000 times, and Jimmy fails to see that open pass, he gets injured one time. There is no causal relation other than the fact that hitting that pass removes the potentially infinite other paths that could have occurred, of which only a tiny subset (by comparison) involves him getting injured on that sack.
yes it's all flukey in the game football but not knowing to read defenses especially when there will be a free rusher on the play will raise the chance of getting injured.

And even a greater if the qb is injury prone

I thought you meant IN the Miami game. Still, I can't support this opinion as one game is not a sufficient sample size. I say, let's wait until the end of the regular season in the very least before making pronouncements about this.
Jimmy please get well soon man. Your team needs you. I just hope when you come back we still have a chance at making the playoffs or just barely make in. Hopefully somehow Seattle losing a game or two because I expect us to lose a game or two during this stretch without the "G" at QB. I do not want to count the team out because of the defense and special teams this season. Best chance is to make these games an ugly street fight affair that Robbie Gould can win it late for us. He has done it before.

The improvement from Mullens 2.0 is not think he is Mullens 1.0, attempting to gunsling passes through defenders and trying to be spectacular. We have the defense and special teams for support. Get a couple of 1st downs and punt the ball. Let the defense set up better field position throughout these games and bring on Gould who lives for these moments when he is clearly in the spotlight as the man.

Get into the playoffs and throw Jimmy back out there to complete his magical season of destiny with this team to hold No. 6 above his head. Like Steve Young, he can get that monkey off his back. It is time.

I don't expect to see Jimmy Grappolo anymore" They do not see Jimmy on the field either, damage contorl none news.. As Haberman, a previous scout, explains in the video if Jimmy had a Lisfranc and factor in his other injuries, Jimmy would be at max a 2M player in 2023.

There's no damage control to be done. And that's for the very obvious reason that teams will make their own assessment of Jimmy's injury/progress when FA starts. Whether or not Jimmy's camp makes some grand pronouncement about his injury now doesn't change the fact that teams will do their own due diligence later. I mean, did you just think other teams would simply take Jimmy's agent's word for it?

(edited for spelling)

So just like last year; his foot doesn't need surgery just like his shoulder didn't until it did?

The situation is entirely different—we held his rights. He was arguably trying to exercise control over the trade situation. He's a free man after this season.

By saying he was arguably trying to exercise control over the trade; are you insinuating that he got the surgery so late on purpose? Cause he was essentially a free man after last season as well to anyone who would trade for him

Could be he delayed surgery on purpose hoping he wouldn't need it, knowing surgery would hurt his value.
Good news for Jimmy and I am happy for him BUT bad news for the 49ers… he will be back just in time to crap the bed in the playoffs it's an annual event that can't be missed. My preference is for jimmy to heal and get ready for his new team but We all know that he is going nowhere and the torment will continue for years to come. We are incapable of letting go when it comes to jimmy.

What a week of an emotional roller coaster. Hahaha first we are confident we are super bowl contenders, then we lose that hope (most fans), and now jimmy might be able to come back for the playoffs. Hahaha

Only thing we are missing now is Brock Purdy playing amazing and then we have a 3 QB drama headline. Hahaha

He wasn't delaying it. He didn't know he needed surgery until essentially right when it was announced that he was going to get it. He talked about it in an interview.

1,000 more years Jimmy G.

Fans have a short memory here.

Remember at the beginning of 2021 a whole bunch of fans on the zone were convinced Trey would be the starter at the beginning of the season and take us to the Super Bowl. It did not happen and was never going to happen.

Every time JG missed a throw, had a turnover or got intercepted these fans were talking like Trey would replace him in the season. Never happened except for injury.

Then the same fans we certain he would never be back in 2022. But they were wrong again.

And still they harp on now he is injured that he has played his last game as a 49er.

How many times do people have to be outright wrong before they understand they don't know what they are talking about?
