There most be at least some chance Jimmy comes back in a deep playoff run or why else would they keep him on the roster.

They want those last two spots to bring back Mitchell and Kinlaw. It might not be a big chance but if it were 0 he wouldn't be taking up a roster spot.

someone freeze frame this at the exact moment purdy should have gone down pls.

False. Great job getting rid of the ball in the face of pressure. 100% textbook and throwing the ball instantly essentially was giving himself up.

If Jimmy were injured on a play like this there is zero discussion regarding the topic.

The point is it's being argued that Jimmy should have gone down as soon as he saw the free rusher coming, to avoid injury. Had Purdy done the same, he doesn't hit Kittle. Both had to wait for a WR to come open, and both took big hits. So because on Jimmy's play no WR came open, it's his fault for getting hurt? Ridiculous.
Face it you are NEVER going to get rid of this guy. He's likely coming back next year and beyond. Commit long term to Jimmy G and keep winning.

Doubt it. He'll enter free agency, won't get an offer because of his questionable health, resign as our backup again next year. Lance, JG, Purdy. Pretty strong QB room of you ask me.

I'm with you except we'll resign Jimmy at a bargain and go with Jimmy as starter and Brock as backup. We'll trade Trey.

Yes another day closer to trading Trey

No mobility, could have easily thrown away the ball, known your own limitations and weaknesses, crying over spilled milk really.

Mitchell for sure, Kinlaw high chance, maybe even Lance, common sense says the Jimmy ship sailed and won't be returning and KS was honest as much as he can be about it as he always has been with the media or anyone else.

Purdy more mobile, higher situational awareness, younger and more clear minded under duress and pressure, just wired better as a QB.
KS happy to have Purdy now and glad he was drafted for a reason ironically as the very last pick of the draft at that.. maybe for a very good reason, fate and destiny?

Mitchell and Lance is what I'm hoping.

Even more telling will be what they do with Kinlaw. If he stays on IR it's cuz they want to keep open the Lance possibility just like w Jimmy.

Probably true. Doubt he retires here.
