Why would the Raiders do that? What are they getting in return? That's so stupid. Waller is perfect with Jimmy G. A dream come true. This makes no sense at all.

Still the best 1st post of any major thread ever.

Obviously it didn't work out for him to be the next HOF 49ers QB and there are definitely strong opinions on both sides about whether he was borderline Elite all the way to total dumpster fire bad, but the hope he brought was so important for this franchise when it was much needed.

Will always love him but I'm happy to cheer for whoever takes over between Trey and Purdy (or both).

Hate that it is the Raiders cuz I just can't hope for anything good to happen with them. Similar to when Rice was a Raider, still loved him but can't cheer for them even a little.

Agreed. We got an unbelievable return on a 2nd round pick. Didnt work out how we wanted, but still a great trade.

Perhaps the dumbest move I've seen all off season. Waller with Jimmy G could actually work pretty effectively. They just don't understand here at all. This is a bad, bad move. No reason to do this as the team is made up now. You keep him. Not trade him.

Waller turns 32 at the start of next season and he's looking more and more injury prone as he ages. he's missed 20 games over the past two seasons.

I guess. But that seems like a perfect fit with Jimmy G if he can stay healthy. Jimmy loves a TE in the middle who can move fast. That's the best part of his game. To take that away seems ill advised IMO.

He had a lot of throws to Kittle that gained big yards during his time in SF. The catch and run by Kittle against the saints in 2019 was the reason Gould was in position to kick the game winning FG. Waller was probably their 2nd best receiving option.
