Filter by completed air yards per attempt and scan through. Please show me the correlation to winning. It doesn't exist. The best QB in the NFL (Mahomes) ranked 16th in that "stat" last year.

Just because they are called "advanced stats," doesn't mean they carry any significance to winning football games.

That's because winning is a team effort. Sometimes teams win because their QB does most of the work. Sometimes teams win because they have a lot of studs on offense and the QB is a cog in the machine.

For example, look what happened when Tua went down in Miami. Their offense fell off a cliff (I believe they went to 16 points per game or so). Look what happened when Jimmy went down in San Francisco. The offense went from 22 points per game to 32 points per game. Brock Purdy completed air yards per completoin: 5.9. Jimmy: 4.8.

There's no doubt in my mind that Jimmy will have success throwing to Devante Adams, arguably the best WR in football. Jimmy's a good QB who's played for McDaniels.

I broke down the Carr / JG stats and you can see Carr hit 99% of games started (essentially 100) JG was at I believe 64%.
Performance wise they are on the level but injury wise is the clear difference

This took his contract from a Carr like $150m to the $72m.. my prediction was not half of Carr which was very spot on if I say so myself

It was more than injury. First, there is the Brock Purdy effect. He definitely cost Jimmy money, because he flat out made the offense better. Then, there is the talent and scheme. Carr was asked to do more. That's just a fact, no matter how much you mock stats like completed air yards per completion and run after the catch. People with millions of dollars invested in these teams don't have the luxury of sweeping stats under the run that don't glorify the guy they lie. They see a guy throws a lot more short passes and see a guy who's consistently less accurate down the field, and they wonder how much of his success was him and how much was the coach and talent around him. That isn't "haters," that's people with millions invested.

All these factors played a role in the gulf between their respective contracts despite similar efficiency numbers.

Now, do I think that's an accurate judgement on their part? I don't. I first of all think mediocre QBs are overvalued. If anything, Carr's contract is too high. But since this is a market economy, I do think they're underpaying Jimmy by a couple of million, because of how important moving the chains is in the NFL, and he's pretty good at that. Nevertheless, while injury history played a role, there was more to it than that.

That's why they got rid of Carr and signed Jimmy. Your argument makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

They got rid of Carr and signed Jimmy FOR SIGNIFICANTLY LESS MONEY. They cut Carr before about 40 million would have become guaranteed. And they got a QB in the same tier at around 24 million per year. It's interesting how you ignore these details. We all know why.

Lol wut. No, they don't "expire." But it's well known that QB's today play with rules that favor QB's. So the passer ratings in today's era are much higher than previous eras. Brady played a lot of years under different rules.
