Purdy is the guy we paid Jimmy to be and never got. Seems obvious

Aiyuk said that clear out routes are possible throws from Purdy. Do you know what a clear out is? It's not designed to get the ball. That's play design. But if Purdy sees it's open, he let's it fly.
He chooses to operate outside of the play structure at times, and it's working. So yes, a lot of Jimmy's struggles were because of Kyle. Purdy simply has the right personality to push back against Kyle and move the offense beyond the offense's design.
Yea I don't think that was a clear out route. Brock mentioned it being part of his progression as well.
I'll wait to see the all-22 look to be sure.
I wasn't referring to the play last night. Aiyuk's interview with Armstead was earlier this week. He was just speaking in general.

Gotcha. I heard the interview, just thought you were referencing it because of that TD.

Yah. He just couldn't see from his vantage point what Brock was seeing. In film session I'm sure he will praise Brock read on the play.

I agree. I think Purdy's a unique player that Kyle's never had the opportunity to be a coach for in his coaching career. Jimmy is a great QB, again in *my* opinion. Jimmy's won us a lot of games because he fit in Kyle's offense to a T. Having said that, Purdy is a generational QB - like the past 49er QB legends are. It's been (in a sense by 2024) 30 years since we've had QB's at the hall of fame level. That's about a generation. I think Purdy's generational talent will force Kyle to change his schemes in a sense. I mean typically a good coach will cater his *system* to enhance his players talent. What if Purdy's talent is so generational that Kyle has to alter his scheme in ways Kyle's not comfortable in to "enhance" his players talent. Something to think about.

So what do the Raiders do next season? His cap hit is over $28 Million and it's all guaranteed. And they don't have an out until 2025. I don't see any team trading for him with that contract. Even if it's just for 1 year. Raiders might have to offer a draft pick to just get a team to listen.

There's no change to the scheme needed. This same scheme had the MVP of the league. If Brock just keeps doing what he's doing everything will fall into place.

Well if I'm right, Kyle will be drafting bigger OLine in the future to go more vertical. Agree that the scheme doesn't have to really change - just tweaked a bit for the vertical game a bit more. I.e. more Danny Gray's and a bit less YAC monsters. Having said that, I love the scheme he has right now.

Agree, it's going to be a problem for them. Another poster on another thread had Jimmy going to Seattle.

Amazing. I've never seen an OUNCE of greatness out of Jimmy G. Not with the Patriots, not with the 49ers,...and not with the Raiders.
I'm more inclined to just wait to see it before I call it that way.
Same with calling Purdy a generational QB when things got a little hairy for the kid once Trent Williams and Deebo wasn't there.
I mean @ virtually all the major positions, he has All-Pro level players. Who can say the same right now on NFL offenses?
I can be patient and I can wait before making huge leaps like he's a "generational QB," "more accurate than Drew Brees", and all of this other stuff you've been saying, Giedi.
There's no need to rush and when you do, you end up CONVINCED that players like Jimmy G are great when clearly, they never were.
And in all fairness to him, it's not his fault. Fans are just impatient.

Giedi is the biggest homer. He makes Faithful look like susweel lol.
Generational talent is a stupid take. Those are saved for elite athletes that also play their position very well.
Brady was not a generational talent, neither was someone like Brees.
That term is saved for out of the norm players in sports. Shohei, Shaq, MJ, Deion, Mahomes, LeBron, that sort of players.
Purdy is a damn good, but he's not a "generational" talent. And Jimmy is definitely not great, my god
